Attorney Darrow was horrible, demeaning and I felt like he worked more for my ex husband, husband at the time. We got down to negotiations and he and a moderator decided what I should ask for...talking about me like I wasnt there, I was too weak at the time, but now where i am now, I would stand up for myself. He will not fight for you! And the respomse from his office on this review cant be that he never worked with me like his other responses, Amber Uecker was my married name Amber Stary is my name since i went back to my maiden name. you can CCAP me, he was my lawyer and he was awful! Him and another old man judge sat in the room and they decided what I "needed" Again, I was too weak and scared and alone to stand up for my self . He was awful, and a joke during meditation and negotiation. Don't waste your money or time on him, he will not fight for you!

First of all, I want to start by sharing that this is the first negative review I have ever written. I waited to write this because I wanted to compare my experiences after hiring a different Attorney. I also want to share that once I expressed that I no longer wanted Attorney Darrow's services, he was very cooperative in giving me my full retainer back, which I truly did appreciate. I am sure many people have had a positive experience with him, however, I feel that I need to share mine. When I first met with Attorney Darrow he was wonderful and I felt like he was going to have my back. I expressed that I had no idea what I was doing and would need guidance through the divorce process. After the first meeting and turning in many of my documents, I didn't hear anything from the office for over a month. I found Attorney Darrow difficult to reach. I felt like I was missing a step and that I had no idea if my case was being worked on. When I called to set up a meeting to figure out the status of things I waited a week for the meeting and took off of work to meet Attorney Darrow. He was unprepared for my meeting and hadn't seen any of the documents I sent him a month prior. He began asking me questions that we already went through in our initial meeting. When I told him (again) what my salary was he responded with "No, you don't make that much...?" He started re-calculating numbers and told me (without seeing any documents) that I was going to end up paying child support. When I questioned him he rudely told me I had not sent him any other information that was requested. He showed me that my folder was empty, they didn't have any of my information that I spent hours sending. I had everything documented in email of what I sent and when. Half of the meeting time consisted of his secretary pulling up all my records for the first time after I showed proof in my own emails. I then shared a parenting plan that I had drafted on my own and asked him to review it and give me feedback. He tossed it to the side and told me that he didn't really have an interest in looking at it and that his primary concern included how many overnights my child was going to have at each place and what the finances looked like. I found his tone demeaning, rude, chauvinistic, and unprofessional. It became clear that he had no interest in fighting for me. I left in tears. In my follow up email to the office stating that I no longer wished to work with them, his secretary was very apologetic and reassured me that the office does not normally function like that. I appreciated her follow up. I would like to assume that the office was clearly going through something at that time. However, it still does not excuse Attorney Darrow's unprofessionalism. The next month I hired a different attorney who was wonderful. The receptionist was responsive, the Attorney gave me a cell phone number that I could text, and happily welcomed my parenting plan that I drafted. The Attorney gave me incredible and honest feedback, made some great adjustments and additions, stayed on top of things, was professional, and fought for me through the entire process. If I would have kept working with Attorney Darrow I would currently be paying child support (which I am not) and would have no individualized parenting plan, which was my main priority for the sake of my child. I see that there are some additional unprofessional responses to other negative reviews on google so I won't be surprised if this also gets an unprofessional response. However, if you are a woman going through a divorce, I might look elsewhere.

Attorney Darrow did such an amazing job representing me for my divorce case that I had to retain him for the follow up custody battle. As always Dwight is fierce in the courtroom and in representing his clients and has the respect from those in the industry. If you are looking for the best to represent you this is the man you want in your corner. Darrow will be tranparent and provide options based on different scenarios that could occur and share in his experience what is realistic to expect. I've now faced two different attorneys retained by my ex wife and always feel I've got the upperhand thanks to Dwight.

After paying $1,250, we are still no closer to an accurate will and trust. The responsibility was put back on the customer to update all the drafts, but all the initial information provided to Dwight Darrow in person directly was inaccurate or completely neglected--no trust or confidence in this office to provide accurate or even quality work. Withdrew service after pointing out concerns, but did not receive a refund. Dwight Darrow and his office takes no ownership and blames the customer for any issues. Overall, very unhappy with the customer service from this office, I walked out of the office feeling neglected, frustrated, and even more confused. After meeting with Dwight Darrow in person for an hour to provide details about our will and trust, the draft copies received via email within 3 weeks were completely inaccurate and unacceptable. For example, the number of children listed--wrong; completely neglected to add the beneficiary for specifically detailed assets; location of the city misspelled; owner of wills name misspelled; and a trust (which I gave him a copy of) completely left out of the will. The drafts I received were generic as if they were pulled off the Internet and were not updated. I am in my mid-70s and the responsibility was put back on me, the customer, to review and update the drafts provided, which was completely overwhelming since every detail we provided in our in person meeting was completely inaccurate. Due to the lack of detail and inaccuracies, we lost trust in the office and withdrew our request for service; however, the office kept our $1,250. Highly recommend finding a different law office.

Over the years, we have had several businesses. As you know, being in business often requires retaining legal counsel for labor, real estate, drafting or interpreting contracts and litigation. Now, please understand that Attorney Darrow is best known for family law but is capable to handle all legal matters. Attorney Darrow has always been on top his game and excelled in meeting our needs in all areas of law. He has always guided or lead the way to successful resolutions. Feel confident to hire Attorney Darrow to get the job done.
