Lim Michael

Like all public defenders, Mr. Lim is extremely overworked and is at the courthouse from sun up till sun down. At first I was a bit frustrated with lack of return phone calls, and what felt like him not being invested very much. The day of court he was spot on-he had clearly taken into account any and all information I had provided him, he was well spoken and seemed to have a genuine care for people who are willing to help themselves. I can't imagine how many cases he's responsible for at a time, but what I do know is he seems to have a very under appreciated position.

Through my job I qualify for a free 30 minute consultation with a lawyer. I was referred to Michael Lim. Michael called me before he needed to go into court, and chose to talk to me over the phone for maybe 15 minutes. I'm new with talking to a lawyer so I wasn't sure where to begin. I didn't have a lot of time to go over much of what is going on with my situation, most of my questions or contact information for people involved. To make a long story short, Michael was very fast to dismiss me and gave me very little advice. I guess it is because it was a free consultation. Maybe if you have a lot of money and are not displaced from your home causing you to be behind on bills due to weekly motel fees, there might be potential that you will be treated as a person with feelings. Maybe if he is getting paid he would want to make time to help you instead of making you feel inadequate, stupid or like a burden. It is a shame that some people care more about money than what they can do to make a difference. Since Christmas night I have been struggling. None of the things going on are my fault. Thankfully I qualify to be referred to a new lawyer. I just hope this new one cares and is compassionate. I do not recommend Michael Lim to anyone, especially if you are poor.

Michael Lim took our case and absolutely did the best he could in the circumstances. He was caring, understanding, and professional. He communicated with us and explained every step of the process as we went through it. Should anything come up again, we will definitely hire him and we highly recommend him. He is excellent in his profession.

His desk clerk is absurd. I literally called to verify he was withdrawing from my case and his assistant was rude, his clerk was rude. I simply was trying to confirm the details and was treated incredibly poorly. To be accused of abusing or yelling when I have recordings of the situation is beyond absurd as I elaborated to earlier in my comment. Don't use this lawyer or his services you won't be treated as human.

I wasn't completely sure that human filth existed but after meeting this guy a second time while I was incarcerated in Winnebago county for resisting arrest and whatever charge it was that pairs to it. Because of probation I got to have my meeting at the glass window which I don't mind. It's what it was. Problem was he was the original lawyer involved with interviewing my son and giving the judge his opinion for my fight to see my son or gain phone calls. Fast forward half a decade to 23 and he's standing before me. I wasn't sure exactly who he was at first. Instead of speaking to me first he ignores my presence and asks my guard if another inmate is here in this pod. I speak up and introduce my own self, and when I hear his name is Mike, I ask Mike who.. Because my memory is fresh.. my parents also dealt with him the previous year in fall of 22. They lost their granted Grandparents Rights to him. After phone calls and weekly visits were established for over 5 months. Reuniting my son with family that thinks about him always man. Always. What my parents learned with me in that courtroom the last day we ever needed to show up was this. *Grandparents Rights are NOT recognized in the state of Wisconsin if BOTH parents are ALIVE. Judge had no CHOICE, my parents weren't allowed the time with my son no more, not the phone calls. Not because the were bad people not hurt him in any way. Just was. Not even a phone call to explain WhatTF happened..! Okay.. Okay.. Cherry on top, he charges them $5,000 for the service because why split the bill with both parties. After recognizing his name, I promptly told him to Get Fd. Several several times. Besides other opinions only I hold in such regard were shared. My handcuffs digging in my wrist as I stand up and stare at this garbage..this greasy thing. This THING. I don't care how good he is, I don't want his help on my soul. Or his face before me. No. No. Naw. Heck naw. NAW. He calls my guard back and then stands in the doorway, smiling. BIG smile as I probably start growling and expressing any feelings that fit the circumstances ATM. There was no reason we should of ever talked. That was CONFLICT OF INTEREST. I had to verbally point this out and deny this thing to stand beside me in a court room. MYSELF! I apologized to the guard for my outburst. I did a couple times as they took me back to the max block of county. The guard understood. He felt I was accurate and said it in his OWN words. If I had the chance, I'd roast his left arm with that Rolex and EAT as much as I could tolerate. IN FRONT of this greasy damd THING it came from. Folks, it's how I feel. All that pain and anger. Lost time. It'll never heal completely. -J F H
