I found attorney Elizabeth Lanzhammer to be exceptionally knowledgeable in the area of guardianship. My communications, both calls and emails, were directed to Elizabeth personally, rather than through assistants. I valued her professionalism, direct communication style, and excellent responsiveness. Her approachable demeanor made a challenging situation considerably more manageable. I highly recommend Attorney Elizabeth Lanzhammer.

I worked with Ralph Johnson and April Splittgerber during and after my divorce trial. I cannot recommend this firm. Johnson advised me to make financial decisions during trial (like purchasing a vehicle) that were later used against me in court. He also failed to raise key arguments I requested, such as the cost of refinancing the home I was being awarded, and suggested that I leave my ex-wife on the mortgage and "hope she doesn't bring it up". She did, and he had retired by then. Splittgerber took over but provided no meaningful support. She communicated with opposing counsel without my approval (and charged me for it), and billed me $700 for a letter outlining tasks that I had already completed on my own. Neither attorney effectively protected my assets or advocated for my interests. Overall, I found the representation passive, un-strategic, and focused more on billing than client outcome.

Attorney April Splittgerber was such a big help to me in my case. She is professional, very knowledgeable, kind, listened closely to what I had to say and provided great feedback. I really appreciated her hard work.

This is the third time I have hired Axley to help me with, life events. Attorney Lanzhammer represented me in my custody battle a few years ago, and most recently with amending that agreement to change schools for my son. She is an AMAZING attorney, and person. I cant sing her enough praises. I had a lot of information/documentation going in (which made things easier) and Liz was fantastic with helping me organize and present everything to "paint a picture". She is amazing with presenting the facts and helping you understand what is realistic to expect. She is not over aggressive and listens to what you want as the client. She is almost half attorney, half therapist at times. I recommended her to a co-worker who also recently hired her and I was told "more has happened in the week since hiring Liz, then the last two months with my previous attorney!" I honestly cannot say enough good things about attorney Lanzhammer.

Myself and my family cannot recommend Axley, and specifically the legal services of Erika Bierma, more strongly. Erika's professionalism, work ethic, dedication to her clients, and exceptional skill as a defense attorney softened the immense stress and difficulty of more than one legal issue for my family. She achieved sentencing outcomes so favorable we didn't even consider them possible, all while providing a guiding hand through the complexities of the legal process. Since 2016, our family has worked on various occasions with Erika to navigate legal issues stemming from substance abuse. Through all this, she was compassionate, straightforward, and clearly communicated all possible paths forward. She has a deep understanding of and empathy for the wide range of emotions that her clients experience while dealing with these sensitive issues. Further, she is well-versed and excellently connected to resources, including therapists, counselors, and recovery programs, throughout the area. Erika and her team, most notably her assistant Paula Mueller, are incredibly responsive to calls, emails, and texts. Every question, every worry, every clarification you ask about is answered promptly. It's hard to believe this level of quick, clear, and compassionate communication could be found with any other attorney or firm. A five star review isn't nearly enough. Myself and my family cannot recommend her with more enthusiasm and gratitude.
