Veterans and families, beware. I paid over $5,000 to Attorney Jay Nixon to assist with replacing my Permanent Resident Card. I'm a Navy veteran battling Stage IV Bile Duct Cancer, and I trusted him during an incredibly vulnerable time. After receiving payment, Jay essentially vanished. He blamed the lack of progress on his receptionist leaving and claimed he lost the paperwork. When my son followed up, Jay said he had the file and would call back, he never did. What was truly disturbing was how the conversation turned. Instead of legal help, Jay unsolicitedly commented on my terminal illness. He said I should be in hospice, heavily medicated on morphine, and even suggested I file for bankruptcy; then coldly stated I'd "be dead before this gets resolved." I was stunned and deeply hurt. In the end, my son submitted the I-90 application himself for under $500, and we are now moving forward without Jay Nixon and without his "help." For someone who presents himself as a Christian and a loyal Packers fan, Jay Nixon's conduct was anything but honorable. I regret trusting him. Let my experience be a warning to others.
