I'm a minor and don't know the ins and outs of the legal system, so my dad contacted clearwater to represent me for a protection order case. Initially, I was paired with Stephen McPherson, who was actually pretty nice and helpful, He finished our response quickly and we even cracked a few jokes together, but on the day of the hearing, he didn't show up for some weird reason (he had military flight training or something.) Instead, Christopher Hoxie, who I previously never met, joined the zoom meeting saying he would represent me. Needless to say, I was worried about his knowledge of my case, and boy was I right.. Not only did Mr. Hoxie's camera only show the top part of his balding head, he also stuttered after literally every word he spoke, talked extremely aggressively, and even interrupted the other party when to introduce himself. In fact, he even got the legal code or whatever wrong for my case. He emphasized on really small and unimportant details in the response and only covered half of the entire thing. I truly think I could have represented myself better, in fact anyone who could speak english properly probably could have. Even the judge was pissed, instantly ruling in favor of the other party. The only reason I'm not giving 1 star is because Mr. McPherson was good (other than literally not showing up to the hearing)

They required a $5000 deposit, a year later the attorney had not done a single thing and quit. They never respond, they don't call you back. They'll take your money and and run. You'll have spend months calling and emailing them to get a response. I asked for retainer back since the attorney quit and never did any work on my case. It's been 3 weeks and no answer back. This is a horrible place to have represent you. They do not respect their clients.

I rarely give negative reviews, I believe everyone can have a bad day but at the end of that day, how you treat people, especially those looking to you for help in the field you chose shows your true colors. These people are supposed to help vulnerable people navigate through confusing legal matters but they cannot be trusted. I got matched with Christopher Hoxie through my legal insurance, I called several times spanning through weeks, I never received a call back but did end up getting an answer to one of my many calls, they set me up with an appointment over the phone with him, on that day I waited twenty minutes and called them instead, they put me through with Lori because Chris was out of the office during our scheduled meeting, she was very helpful and insightful but unfortunately not covered by my insurance. I called back as my case progressed to a certain point and managed to get a hold of Mr.Hoxie, he was rude, he did not listen to me, it felt like he was rushing me and he spoke to me as if there was no reason to pursue my case. like it was a waste of time and there was no chance I would win. Every question I asked Mr.Hoxie was answered with a statement about him getting paid and deadlines for getting paid, when I asked him questions about my insurance paying him he brushed me off. I do not recommend this law firm.

Mr. Christopher Hoxie has been my lawyer since October 2020 and he has been nothing but awesome! He has held my hand through my divorce with compassion and knowledge, helped me move back home to Louisiana with my kids, and is still showing up in court for things that come up. I would 10000% recommend using Clearwater Law Firm!

AVOID THIS FIRM! In October 2023, Hoxie was formally reprimanded by the Washington State Bar. If I would have know the past behavior, I would have never hired them. $5,000 to absolutely do nothing, staff are incompetent of communication. Over billing, poor communication, negligence, and documents filed late to the courts. First attorney that took my case left the firm with no communication, until I called 2.5 months later to request a case update. Instead of returning my money for negligence they forwarded my case to Hoxie, who also couldn't even communicate or do what he was being paid for. 2024-2025 nothing was completed for this case, besides headaches and unprofessionalism. DO NOT HIRE THEM!
