David Whaley literally saved my life. I have had many encounters with the Commonwealth's judicial system and I have always been fortunate enough to have the financial resources to have a good attorney represent me. However, David Whaley is in a league of his own. I came to him with a case that looked hopeless and the prospect of spending the rest of my life in prison. Despite being innocent my prospects were bleak, but David kept me focused on what was most important: getting the best outcome possible in my case. Every move he made was the right one. He fought the Commonwealth at every turn, doing an incredible job on pretrial motions and discovery. Ultimately, we went to trial and I was found not guilty. If you're looking for someone to hold your hand, maybe you don't want to retain David. His sole objective is to get his clients the best outcome possible. He is an honest man who cares about his clients. He is an exceptional litigator but more importantly, he is honest. Enough said.

David Whaley was hired to fight my husband's criminal case on 12/24/2021. I didn't hear from Mr. Whaley at all before or after my husband's bond hearing. On day three after he was hired I had to go online to make a inquiry as if this was a case he had never seen before to get a response minutes after sending. ON 12/28/2021 around 230pm Once this lawyer responded to original phone calls instead of email inquiry stated above; his statement was "I wanted to make sure you all could afford me, so I did not want to make anyone upset by moving forward if he was not "affordable", Give me a call once you have the money. Mr. Whaley waited until after my husband's bond hearing was done and over to tell us he was not going to take it which is very unprofessional and showed me he is only in it for the thousands earned from clients whom they should care for. I want a lawyer who cares and will keep in contact not someone who waits last minute and says what he says. Family members have put their houses up to pay your fee and this is how you respond? I will be taking my money elsewhere. This law firm doesn't not have sympathy or respect for the public. I never got a reply Via email either

He is seriously so hard to get a hold of. In court he will tell you to call him any time if you have any questions or stop by his office but when you call, you're not going to reach him. If you leave a message, it is not likely to be returned. Out of all the times I called him, he called me back ONE time. Then he says to stop by the office but then doesn't spend much time with you there. My husband spent the majority of his time awaiting his court case having no idea what was going to happen. He never got to fully explain his details of his case because Mr. Whaley would say "don't worry about that." I don't know if he is overloaded with cases and just didn't have the time to really work through my husband's case or what but i was disappointed in his performance because i heard he was the best in town. Every time my husband spoke to him it was like he didn't remember any details of his case. My husband has court in March surrounding the same case and I'd rather stick with the public defender than shell out more money to just get ignored and forgotten. 3 stars is being generous and I'm only giving that because he does seem like a nice guy but choose someone who is actually interested in your case.

I had to change my review after David Whaley worked against my interests. He refuse to file a motion for a bond hearing. Told me he was going to and never did. He told me we're getting everything dismissed, and then plead guilty/no-contest. Extemely frustrating
