I hired Kim M Kim cared very little about my case. She has a very flat effect, is quiet and sheepish and does not educate or support you on understanding the system processes. I caught her in several lies during negotiations with my ex husbands attorney; her lies were aimed at speeding along the negotiations trying to get me believe falsified information in order to get me to agree to things so she could quickly get the case finished. My case couldn't have been any easier for her in the first place as my ex is the type that basically tells on himself, even his own attorney passed him off onto their intern. Also the GAL was advocating against him due to his many issues. I did have the outcome I wanted but it was no thanks to her. Also on day of court she dressed in the most utterly ridiculous outfit. This is not something I ever note or judge about people but I found it glaringly odd how, on the day of our hearing, she would look like a total clown. I even commented on how funky her outfit was and she sort of laughed and acknowledged she enjoys some off color clothing...but on court day?! Luckily we settled out of court thanks to my ex ruining things for himself, because I had zero confidence she would have been able to litigate

John is easily of the best lawyers out there. He has an incredible ability to thoroughly explain the process of the law, but in a way such that someone like myself, who has very little knowledge of the legal process, can understand. Above all, he is remarkably passionate about his work and you can tell he wants to see things through out of the love he has for his work. I cannot recommend him enough!

Note: I am not a client, I merely sought representation. It took them be better part of two weeks to even look at my case, at which point I was passed off as unworthy. I give two stars because if that little work and attention took two weeks to get, I cannot imagine how punishingly drawn out actual legal work with them would be. It is not one star because at least they did give a referral which is expected most places but rare in Charlottesville for what may or may not be reasons which are clear to all, but that I believe are vivid to some. Later addition: Mr. Davidson reached out to me, clarified some things, and gave me some general ideas on how I might go about dealing with my situation. While his advice did not ultimately pan out, it was very reasonable and well informed, and our chat was pleasant.

Kitt Mattingly provided helpful legal advice and guidance, clearly explaining the process, my options, costs/benefits, and timeline. She communicates clearly and is very responsive, while operating efficiently (an important characteristic when paying by the hour). Most of all she made me feel like a valued client, always giving me her full attention and energy. I highly recommend working with her for your legal matters.

Mr. Davidson went above and beyond to help educate me in the law and about my rights. He made me feel comfortable and I left knowing I was in great hands with a seasoned, knowledgeable lawyer. I highly recommend Mr. Davidson and his staff.
