First off, the answering of the phone wasn't professional at all, and I had to ask if I got the right place. He asked for my full name, which I thought was weird, and I gave a general one. Seeing as I called for a simple question, I deemed it not necessary to give my actual name(usually dont unless necessary). This question should have had a simple yes or no answer if you have experience in divorce like they say. I filed for divorce, and they give you a packet of rules(the one in question being not turning off your spouse's phone/number) at the courthouse when you file. My question was, if I give my spouse a 30-day notice to move to their own account before doing so, is that legal? The guy was rude and rushed me to get to the question when I was trying to explain important details pertaining to it. Then, he stated he would need to know more about the case to answer. Well, which is it? Then, he asked if I had someone representing me. Seems to me he just wants to get you in and get your money. I just told him I'd call the court when they opened the next day and ask them as they'll be able to give me an answer. This is why I filed by myself, though. Lawyers(especially ones like him) make me feel like it's a waste of a lot of money for something I can do/figure out myself. Even if it was a contested one and i needed a lawyer, I certainly wouldn't be going to him after this experience.
