We hired Melissa K. Mellor with Hansen Law out of Pleasant Grove specifically thinking she would be aggressive and take on our case with enthusiasm and effort. We are trying to recover 7 million dollars in a fraud case. We were disappointed in every way. After we fired Ms. Mellor and hired another lawyer, we constructed a time-line of our interaction with her. Our correspondence when she did respond was, "Sorry for the delay," "I'm sorry for the lack of progress on your case," "I also apologize because my workload has prevented me from devoting the time necessary to your case," and placing blame for lack of response and progress on personal issues (family emergency, vertigo and oral surgery). After a few weeks, we sent another email stating we were frustrated with the lack of communication and asked if we should find another attorney if she didn't have the time for our case. She responded again, apologizing for the delay and said she was "confused from a previous email." We find out from our new attorney that work we thought was done was never done and we were shocked to find out that Ms. Mellor gave the defendant options that were not in our best interest and basically sent us backwards and cost us valuable time to pursue justice. Her neglect, negligence and nonperformance after approximately ten months makes me question her ability to actually be a lawyer.
