Based on my experience, this firm seems to be unethical and predatory. Overall, I had a very unpleasant experience working with them. I emailed the lawyer in charge of my case, Mr. Miller, but he did nothing. Then, one of their paralegals, Sydney White, contacted me. They had sent the notice to an old address and a burned-down building that no longer exists--and never emailed or called me. They asked me for proof of payment. When I provided them with some check copies, they refused to accept them at first, even though the checks were sent directly from my bank to a third party. It seemed like they didn't even want to open the attachment and review it. Their responses were often generic, repeatedly stating that if I didn't pay what they asked for, I would be charged additional fees. I called and emailed them multiple times, but they would only respond after a couple of weeks with the same generic reply, emphasizing their fees without offering any real help. I called their office several times and Sydney White but her voicemail was full. I literally asked them where and to whom I should send the check, and they didn't even provide an address--deliberately prolonging the issue just to charge me extra fees. Their practice should be illegal. When I finally spoke to the person in charge of my case, Sydney White, she was completely indifferent and unhelpful. It seemed like she intentionally avoided resolving the issue so they could keep charging me fees. I told her, word for word, "Can I talk to someone who has more energy and actually cares about resolving this issue?" Sydney White originally charged me $350. I emailed her several emails. She never responded in a timely manner. Then, she sent me an email and added a new fee, $133.50. When I told her I will send her the check, but I'd like to know what this new fee is for she sent me the following: "Your current outstanding balance is $2,276.26. We will not be offering you any discounts on your account, and paying any amounts less than what is owed will mean that your account stays in collection with our office. If the balance continues to remain unpaid, we will record a lien notice for all unpaid amounts." As you can see, she provided no explanation about the fees and gave me 4 days to make the payment. Threatening people to put a lien on their property and twisting their arms to pay fees with no explanation cannot be ethical. They also give you such a short time to make the payment and literally do not reply to your email for a long time, so they can charge you more fees. I am not sure how this firm is even legal. In the end, they basically did two things: nothing at all, and prolonged the process so they could add extra fees. They are unethical, predatory, and should not be trusted. It is disappointing to see such practices in Salt Lake.

Caleb assisted in resolving a matter with my HOA. Despite the unpleasant circumstances surrounding our introduction, Caleb was very pleasant to work with. He suggested options that satisfied all parties and took a huge weight off my shoulders through facilitating resolution to a years long issue. Although I hope I never have a need to work with Caleb in the future, if ever I do, I'm confident Caleb would be able to both competently and professional assist again.

If you want moral collections, do not hire these crooks! This company is completely unethical and scandalous. When they first received my account I called 3 times and left 2 voicemails straight to Sydney Whites (the "collector") voicemail. I never received a response -- but I did receive another letter 2 weeks later stating that my balance had doubled. When I finally did get through to her, I gave them $600 dollars with good faith that they would accept another $200 (triple the original amount) and she came back and demanded more than that. Obviously I couldn't afford that. I replied to her email letting her know I could not achieve that, and to no surprise she ignored me AGAIN. She is relentless in increasing fees to their benefit, even if clients are communicating. Next thing I know I'm getting served. Im sure the $400 bill is at least $2000 now. Giving them $600 dollars prevented me from covering necessities for the next 2 months, but they could care less about what's right. They are very aggressive at making sure they can charge the absolute most amount fees before releasing your account all while ignoring you. These people are completely heartless and they are crooks. WHAT HAS HAPPENED IS NOT OK. Shame on your operation!!
