Client Testimonials

Client

one star is too high for William A. Brown. We had him write our wills in 2015 and he had refused to included EXECUTORS and SELF PROVING AFFIDAVIT in our wills that are required by Texas Estate Law. We were suspicious about his intention refusing to include the critical requirements in wills written in Texas. If a will does not include Executor and Self Proving Affidavit, it cannot be probated because not having two critical requirements in the will, it is not a valid will. If possible in anyway, it would cost so much money to probate. I cannot imagine any honest estate lawyer would write wills without Executors and Self Proving Affidavit and refuses to include them in wills despite the clients requests. When he refused to meet our request to include the two item (Executors and Self Proving Affidavit) in our wills, we told him that we did not need his service and asked to refund 50% of the fee we paid upfront ($800.00) because he was the husband of my acquaintance. I told him that he had two weeks to refund the money but he did not send the check. When I wrote him an email that I was going to file a complaint against him to Houston Bar Association, he wrote me back, "The check is in the mail." We received the 50% of the fee I paid ($400.00). Because we were dealing with a lawyer, we kept the copies of all email exchanges with William Brown, the copies of draft wills he had prepared, and the copy of the check he refunded. They are in our bank safety deposit box and they will be remained there. If anyone is going to have any estate lawyer to write your will, study the requirements in wills written in Texas by going on web site provided by Texas Young Lawyers before you go to see a lawyer. It is a very helpful website regarding Texas estate law. I would never recommend William Brown to anyone need to write a will. Yang
