Mary Castro was so nice and understanding when taking my information regarding filing for Social Security disability. It was not an easy decision to make and she understood that. I'm not trying to be over dramatic, but I was diagnosed with breast cancer in January 2023. There are not a lot of help options for cancer patients, as you might think. I filed for disability in February and had to quit working in May 2023 due to the side effects of chemotherapy. SSDI took 2 years to decide to turn me down. I'm blessed. I have family that pays my rent, but I want to be independent again and pay them back. I had been on depression, anxiety, and sleep medication since my divorce in 2006. Everything exploded mentally when I was diagnosed. I've never been on so many medications for my health reasons. Basically, I want to thank Mary for her kindness and compassion when I was a stranger on the phone. Thank you, Mary.
