Have known this lawyer for years. My mother thought the world of him and I liked him as well. Never gave me credit for having matured through the years, and always treated me like a child. Since mom passed 15 yrs. Ago, I've had nothing but heartache due to the way he poorly wrote the trust instrument in her will. It was my trust, a testamentary trust, for Health, maintenance, education, wellfare, and the Sole Support of the Beneficiary, and I think he helped her choose a sarcastic do nothing , incompetent first trustee , that I had to have removed after four years. This trustee would only resign if the trustee position went to one of my sisters. Everything went downhill afterwards, two yrs. Ago I called Mr. K. And thought he might be willing to help by explaining to me about this trust. I have been out of Kingsville for many years, so I really needed help securing a lawyer in my city. Here again, he gave me the name of someone who he knew was not good and would never return my call. I called him back to see if he could refer me to someone else, but he never had decency to call back. Almost a week ago, a lawyer I finally secured, during time my trustee sister took me to court to have trust dissolved, made me AWARE of a very IMPORTANT ISSUE PERTAINING TO THE PROBATE of Mom's estate. THE ISSUE IS CAUSING ME TO possibly LOSE over $32,000 from the settlement of this trust. Have called and left msgs. And asked for Mr. K. To please call me back about this, but it has fallen on deaf ears. He won't bother himself to answer my calls, because he thinks I am a child playing games. Let me assure you, I'm not, I'm nearly 67 yrs old and am in serious need of help with this legal issue. It is fine, go have a small town like Kingsville, and you get a small town attorney, just like you would expect. The man is no help, and thinks because he is an attorney, that he does not have to help even past clients. I guess it is true, he doesn't have to, but you would think it may be in his best interests. Maybe he should educate himself and become more up to date on probate, and how to construct a trust instrument, he's not up to modern times, so no wonder the trustee and beneficiary, did not understand their roles in the process, and I never received any distributions throughout the time I had the trust, (13yr) and had to pay the taxes for the trust out of my own pocket, when the trust should have paid its own taxes if no distributions were made. At first, when I was uneducated about trusts, I called and asked him what type of trust that was, and told him that I never received any distributions, and the trust was still going on... His only remark was, oh, I thought you should be receiving regular distributions since you received it. Of course, the ball was no longer in his court. Just beware if you are going to use him for an issue like this, he is outdated, it is now ( 2025) , does not know about things, and washes his hands of you , like passing the buck, I did my part, so too bad what happens in the future. I would not use this lawyer, but then I come from a larger city, now,. My mother always wanted to see the best in people. He was the only attorney in town that could help at the time, and she was older, and thought he was her only resource. It is too late for her to see her mistake, so if I can help anyone out there, by posting this, then I am happy. It is too late for me also...
