I'm writing this review to share a very frustrating experience with Hermann & Hermann and to help others understand what signing up with them felt like in my case. Based on my experience, I strongly do NOT recommend this firm. From the start, I received many calls and messages telling me they believed I had a case and that they had handled similar situations before. I repeatedly asked if they wanted photos, documents, or a more detailed explanation before deciding to represent me. I offered several times to send everything upfront so they could properly evaluate the situation. Each time, I was told that wasn't needed and that I first had to sign the contract so they could move forward. Based on those assurances, I signed the agreement and provided access to my health information related to the surgery I had due to the incident, photos and videos regarding the incident, along with everything else they requested. About 10 days later, I got a call saying they were withdrawing from my case because they concluded the apartment complex was not negligent. What made this especially frustrating was the timing. I was told that a letter of representation had already been sent to the apartment complex as part of their standard process. Shortly after that letter went out, the apartment complex contacted me for the first time--almost two weeks after I had asked them for updates about the incident and heard nothing. At that point, I emailed the firm asking how I should respond. I was told they needed to check with the attorney. Two days later, the attorney called and said they were withdrawing entirely. I understand that law firms can decide not to move forward with a case. However, given how strongly the case was encouraged at the beginning, the refusal to review additional details before I signed, and the fact that a letter was sent before the firm ultimately decided the case wasn't viable, the whole process felt rushed, confusing, and poorly communicated. Now I'm left dealing directly with the apartment complex on my own. That's stressful in itself, especially because they control my living situation. Any tenant in this position worries things become difficult with their landlord. Being put in that position after believing I had legal representation has been extremely frustrating. They get a one star from me because there is no zero star available. STAY AWAY from this firm, work with attorneys who first review your case and then decide whether your case is viable or not. Otherwise, you may end up like me, exposed and with no legal representation.
