Regret is an understatement for hiring this attorney. Our case was forced into litigation. I hired Mr. Brown to represent my husband (who has dementia). However, everything I submitted (legal documented proof of the mistreatment of my husband) was ignored. Mr. Brown (with co-counsel) ignored my husband's rights that were the legal terms of an Irrevocable Trust and consistently pressured us to sign a settlement agreement that was damaging to our family and against the terms as written. He took our money but did nothing to help us, refusing to answer questions and ignored emails, texts & calls. He wouldn't even give me accounting for the $25,000 retainer fee I gave him (until after I fired him) and at that time, his invoice showed I owed him even more money! Luckily I was smart enough to get a 2nd opinion regarding my position so I demanded Mr. Brown file a non-suit on our case and dismissed his services - otherwise we were going to lose the case. After that, things worked in my favor and I succeeded to represent my husband as his Durable Power of Attorney - a fact that Mr. Brown simply ignored which due to my husband's diminished capacity, he could not stand up for himself. BEWARE - check out all reviews and you will see Mr. Brown has been put on probation in the past. Unfortunately, I did not have time to vet and research him before I hired him. I learned a lot. The most important thing is to educate yourself and don't be intimidated by attorneys just because they have a law degree. He and his firm cared more about pocketing my money and trying to force a settlement than listening to facts and having my husband's back - and I have documentation to (hard evidence) to prove our position. Be advised, you can file a grievance against him for wrongdoing - which is what I am working on now. And don't hire an attorney without a clear contract on what you expect and what the attorney is willing to do. He did not offer me a client/attorney contract. I had to learn the hard way! TAKE CAUTION!!!
