My wife and I hired McCarty-Larson PLLC Burleson in mid 2024 and just recently wrapped up our custody case in May 2025. Initially we hired Christine to file against my wife's daughter's father. Our goal was to limit the father's visitation due to not taking her to school on a Monday or, dropping her off at our house on a Sunday without any heads up. In addition, the father has a history of parental isolation, speaking negatively of my wife and myself to their daughter and telling their daughter that our daughter is not her sister. The opposing party counter sued us for full custody, child support, 3 years back child support and legal fees. We knew it was going to be a battle because of the individual we were dealing with. Extremely combative, non co-parenting, manipulative and the list goes on. Christine was informative during the process which included historical outcomes and court motives. Christine was able to get the opposing attorney and his client to settle in mediation in May 2025, in which visitation was set for Friday-Sunday, every 1st, 3rd and 5th weekend of each month. She was able to place in the court order for the father to reimbursement monthly medical insurance for his daughter on top of a minimal child support. To which he has failed to pay either, post mediation. Christine was able to place in the court order an exchange point at a police station half way for both parties versus us taking his daughter to him, closer to him or our home, which he wanted. The only disappointment was that we had to provide a discovery to the opposing party that had all of our personal information, financial information, bank statements, employer and more, which was very intrusive but part of the process. In the past the father had stalked and harassed my wife at her previous employer so this was a nervous action on our part, knowing he would have my wife's employment address. We did not receive the father's discovery from the opposing attorney. This could have been pursued by Christine but was not. At that point and longevity of the case we were ready for it to be over. The father has a history of assault against my wife and tried setting myself up on a false claim and charge to which I had to hire a separate attorney to defend and dismiss the case. All in an attempt to remove me from the picture. Christine did a great job staying firm on having the police station remain as an exchange point for the purpose mentioned as it was the goal of the father to pick up at our house or, bring their daughter to him. Christine was very knowledgeable, courteous, friendly and empathetic. She stayed on track with the ultimate goal. We would hire her again and we may very well have to, given the father's history. Myself and my wife recommend Christine and McCarty-Larson PLLC law firm as a whole.
