Attorney General

Child support order was active as of June 1, 2025. We have not received a penny from the "mother". Have been to this office approximately 10 times with different excuses each time. July and August was supposedly an issue with their systems being updated. With the exception of one time, it's always a receptionist that you talk to. No one of merit. Now the "mother" who is non-custodial has been receiving SNAP benefits for months and has now filed for the Needy Families assistance. Hello?! She doesn't have the kids but every other weekend and when she chooses to show up on Thursdays. So not only are we not receiving court ordered support because she doesn't work and is a couch stain, but now she's receiving benefits for children she doesn't have in her possession but for a minimal period of time. We asked to file a complaint in early September. We're not assisted with that at all. You're always referred to a 1-800 number where no one answers the phone. This is what is wrong with America, paying for people who can but are too lazy to work. People who work at this office are unprepared, uneducated and unmotivated to assist anyone trying to follow court orders.

Can't call the local office no matter what i try it takes me to the main hotline and someone that doesn't speak English good always answers after over thirty mins of waiting. They suspend my drivers license because of back child support while I was incarcerated. Now it's impossible to get a job anywhere because I live in a small town and have to drive at least 30 miles to get work. They want me to pay half or all the back child support to even consider giving my license back even though I've been paying in it regularly. Trying to better my life but they don't care about that they just want money.

I spoke to Maria and she helped me so fast. She congratulated me on my sobriety and also helped me understand what all the scary letters were for. She was incredible and a pleasure to meet. She made me feel safe and secure unlike other agencies in Abilene Texas. I will never be afraid of the attorney general of Texas. Thanks for hiring Marie. She's the real deal.

I took my girlfriend to the child support office to get account info they said she could not get over the telephone. We drove an hour and 20 mins for the woman behind the glass to be as rude as she could possibly be . We weren't greeted with an hello or a smile instead we had to figure out on our own that we had to fill a paper with my girlfriend's info . While filling out this paper we heard the woman say to another coworker that it's been a short week but the longest week ever . I knew right away we made this trip for nothing . We got to the office at 4:35 they close at 5 it's Friday I get it . But that doesn't mean you don't do your job up till 5 ! My girlfriend was handed a piece of paper with some card info on it and as she asked the woman a question the woman just walked off . This woman has wasted not only my time but also my fuel . I believe she needs to be fired for her unprofessional attitude towards me and my girlfriend . We did some research and seen that what my girl was asking for they do have the info and are every much supposed to help her at that office . I really couldn't believe this woman is in a position where she can treat people the way she did us .

Went here in person to hand over material asked to be presented in person.. at 2 pm on July 15th. Not only were they not in office but I called and it took 1 hour to get thru to someone who could locate them to make an appointment. THEN they said they don't make appointments they "are an intervention office" ??? So where do I send my stuff and know you got it?! Rediculous
