I went to Dowden, Worley, Jewell, & Olswing PLLC for a child custody and support matter and was assigned to attorney Kevin Cavender. At first, things started off fine, but then his efforts changed drastically. There was a period where Mr. Cavender went completely missing for 3-4 weeks, which forced my case to be rescheduled. During that time, I was calling, emailing him, and even reaching out to the firm with no real response. I eventually showed up at the office in person, only to be told they hadn't heard from him either. At that point, I was frustrated not only with him but also with the firm--because at the very least, they should have informed me instead of leaving me in the dark. When he finally resurfaced, he apologized and claimed he was sick. That could have been communicated by him, his assistant, or the firm, but it wasn't. After that, his work became inconsistent and lazy. He even suggested I leave the firm and continue with him privately, which was clearly a terrible idea. Not long after, I was told he was dropped from the firm for not completing his continuing education hours. As a result, the firm then dropped me as a client and withdrew from representing me--after I had already spent thousands of dollars with no resolution. This entire experience was unprofessional, stressful, and costly. Do not use this firm and do not recommend them.
