STAY AWAY! Long story short, after our retainer came to end we were transferred from Mr. Winslow to a new attorney who then called us they needed more money if we wanted to proceed. That was also the only reason why we were ever called or contacted. We were surprised the retainer was gone because they did not inform us of all the work they supposedly did. We decided not to proceed because this new attorney told us that the company we were fighting already had MULTIPLE judgements against them, one of them in the millions. This information was available before we hired the firm, yet they failed to mention it. When I asked why, the attorney said, "That's public information -- you could have looked it up yourself." Very reassuring, considering I hired professionals for exactly that reason.
At that point I asked for a copy of our bills and the next month I received a new bill for $80 (!!!!) to send us copies of our bills. We told them to close the case, they sent us a letter telling us it's closed and a check with the remaining balance. Today we receive ANOTHER bill for closing the case....so they charged me 137 for 30 minutes of work to print a letter and write me a check!!!
They will take a retainer from you, drain it and ask for more, but don't accomplish anything!

I hired this firm to help me with an invalid lien from my HOA. I paid a $5,000 retainer with the understanding that if I settled and the lien was removed, I would receive my $5,000 retainer back.
That is not what happened. Instead, I ended up being charged over $3,000 in attorney's fees, and I did not receive a clear accounting, settlement statement, or closing documents explaining how my money was used. What I was told would happen and what actually happened with my retainer and the settlement did not match.
Based on my experience, I do not believe this firm was honest with me, and I personally do not trust them. I later saw other reviews with similar complaints and wish I had known that before hiring them.
I walked away feeling misled, overcharged, and not properly represented. I would not hire this firm again and I strongly recommend that others stay away and do their research before hiring them.

Joke of a law firm, stay far away from them. They only want money!!! Money money money. Allie Brown is incompetent. My fiance was involved in a fairly serious private matter and this "law firm" went with a consultation that consisted of a ten minute phone conversation with my fiance and I, as I was involved in the matter. They didn't want to hear or see any evidence we have (body cams, phone recordings on our end, photos, time stamps, pictures, FOIA records from the police) We were told the "team" would look over the case and call back, LOOK OVER WHAT??. Next day, she gets a phone call saying "we need to retrieve a retainer of $2500" as a LAWSUIT for protection against the officer(s) threats and the resort for not keeping her safe (isn't that what a lawsuit is). We were asking for assistance for a suit against the local police agency. They wanted to know which officers/detectives were involved, why you ask? Long story short this group is a bunch of crooks with fake reviews. This Allie Brown woman lied and stated they had cases against MPBD (Horry County) that were successful yet public records state otherwise, NO SUITS with any of their attorneys in this firm. Stay far away! Do not waste a dollar! Do your self a favor. Look at the real reviews. Ask yourself this, if you know you have a case, your gut feeling says this it funny and your asked for a retainer STAY AWAY!!!!! that being said, I'm sure I'll see a response from the "owner" saying the same thing they always say, each case is different blah blah" POINT BLANK IF YOUR INVOLVED IN A CAR ACCIDENT AND WANT TO SUE, DO THEY ASK FOR A RETAINER?? NO!! Clearly they are incompetent or just want quick money. Again stay away away away. Never ever give money from just a phone call or a quick meeting in a office.

I am reposting my review of this company, as it was intentionally marked as "spam" by the owner in order to evade an honest review. The original review stated:
"James Flom's public behavior on LinkedIn reflects poorly on his professionalism. His comments come across as condescending, misinformed, and unnecessarily argumentative, which severely undermines the credibility of any business he represents."
This review is not spam, and it is extraordinarily dishonest to mark it as such just to ignore the ridiculous comments made by one of your employees in a public forum. Do better.

Polite on the phone but how am I supposed to hire you guys if your intake specialist never answers the phone? 2 and a half days I've been calling mornings and evenings(left 2 voicemails) and yet to receive a single call back. I keep getting the intake specialists voicemail.
