Most people just accept the HOA's demand and pay the bill. When a group of homeowners in a Grand Strand Highrise thought they were being excessively charged for a repair, they fought back. He met with us. took the time to understand the homeowners' position and agreed to take us forward to a Temporary Restraining Order (TRO), to stop the three plus million-dollar project. We won the TRO and Preston walked us through to achieve an injunction. The project and the assessment should have ended with a mediation and the agreed solution. we were thrilled until the HOA backed out of the agreement and we were forced to continue our fight. Preston never gave up fighting for what we (and he) felt was right. He stuck with us through many meetings and mediations. A few weeks ago, through an official court order. the agreement was approved. We now have a proper policy to evaluate what repairs need done in our building. This policy safeguards us from being overcharged in the future. Preston Brittain saved 176 homeowners from paying $15,000 each, for an item that sold for $5,000 installed.
