Outstanding experience from start to finish. Ryan Schwartz handled my speeding ticket with impressive professionalism and skill. He explained the process clearly, kept me informed every step of the way, and ultimately got the ticket dismissed. I appreciated their confidence, attention to detail, and the fact that they made a stressful situation feel completely manageable. If you need someone who knows the system and delivers results, this is the attorney you want in your corner.

I hired Ryan in November 2023 to represent me in a criminal case, and my experience was extremely disappointing. I received no communication about court dates or case updates until June 2024, when his office contacted me about Charleston City's "pretrial intervention" program--which requires an admission of guilt. That was not the direction I hired him for, so I requested a trial. Ryan was visibly unhappy and told me it could take up to two years to get a trial date.
By November 2025, after hearing nothing from him for nearly a year and a half, I contacted his office to request a refund. His staff was unhelpful, dismissive, and eventually blocked my calls after I became frustrated. Ryan later emailed me questioning why I believed I deserved a refund and informed me--only at that point--that my case had been dismissed.
He then called acting as if the dismissal was recent, but I later learned the case had actually been dismissed in August 2024. Because he never notified me, my bail refund check was sent to an old address, stolen, and deposited over a year ago. The bank will not reimburse the money. Meanwhile, my wife and I spent over a year believing the charges were still active and worrying that I might not be present for the birth of our daughter.
Overall, the lack of communication, professionalism, and basic responsibility was unacceptable. I would not recommend this attorney based on my experience.
Oh and he's yet to send a complete client case file
Update 12/4/25
Your response is full of inaccurate statements meant to cover up your own lack of communication and responsibility. Let me be very clear:
No one "called nonstop." My wife and I have different phone numbers, and each of us called once after learning--on our own--that the case had been dismissed months earlier. That is not harassment, and it is absolutely not "nonstop."
Your claim that you contacted law enforcement is completely false. No officer has contacted us, no report was made, and this statement is nothing more than an attempt to intimidate us publicly after being confronted about your negligence.
Your office never notified us of trial dates, updates, or even the dismissal. You admit in your response that you failed to follow up with the Court for nearly a year. That is not our fault. That is your job. Blaming us for your lack of basic case management is unacceptable.
You also claim your staff "tried to coordinate pickup of the file." That is another falsehood. When asked why the file could not be mailed, your office had no answer. If there was truly documentation ready, it could have been sent like every other law firm does.
As for your story about a pleasant Thanksgiving conversation and an apology--we both know that is not accurate. I expressed frustration because my case was dismissed months ago and nobody bothered to tell me, even though I paid you to manage the matter.
You continuously shift the blame instead of acknowledging the simple truth:
You did not update your client, you did not follow up with the Court, and you did not provide the communication required of an attorney handling an active criminal matter.
A one-star review is appropriate when a lawyer does not perform the basic obligation of informing their client of the case outcome. It has nothing to do with the case being dismissed--it has to do with how you handled it.

Ryan and his team are amazing. Not only did they handle everything from start to finish, my favorite part was every communication had at least 5 people cc'ed on it. So any questions I had were answered and handled virtually instantaneously. Can't recommend these folks enough, they are great and fun to work with!

Ryan's depth of knowledge and confidence in his practice truly set him apart. I can't recommend him highly enough--if you need someone you can trust to get the job done right, Ryan is the one to call.
