Two excellent experiences with Heffner and Associates. At some point, every family faces the challenge of a loved one needing long-term care due to health issues and eventually their death. My wife's family experienced this when her mother became ill and required long-term care in late 2019. Faced with the prospect of the high cost of nursing home care, my wife and her sister sought the services of a law firm, experienced in elder care law, to protect the assets that their parents had worked their whole lives to accumulate and to guide them in setting up mechanisms to enable them to make financial and health care decisions, if/when their parents were unable to do so. Based on his extensive experience in elder law, they chose Mark Heffner, the founder and partner of Heffner & Associates. The First Experience In 2019, attorney Heffner assisted in updating wills, durable power of attorney, and healthcare proxy documents for my wife's parents. He also arranged vehicles to allocate and distribute assets for their mother's long-term care and support for their father. Unfortunately, their mother passed away, before her long-term care plan was scheduled to begin. The Second Experience My wife's father passed away in February 2025. To reconcile his estate, my wife and her sister, did not hesitate to contact Heffner & Associates for assistance. The first comments from Mark and Jackie, were "How are you and your family doing? "Our condolences to you and your family in the loss of your father." "Do any of you need anything, before we get started?" This level of compassion and warmth really put my wife and her sister at ease when meeting with them under such difficult circumstances. It was a pleasure meeting with Mr. Heffner and Ms. Grinnell. My son and I do not have a legal background but all our documents were explained to us in terms which were easy to understand.
