Several years ago, when my mother's health was faltering and she could no longer live completely independently, we realized that we needed to take steps to get her affairs in order. I had the good fortune of meeting Ken Rampino after asking two neighbors to offer recommendations for elder care lawyers in RI. Without a moment's hesitation both mentioned Ken, and after our first meeting with him I truly understood why they both felt so strongly about him. Planning for an elderly parent's final years is rife with emotions and extremely stressful to say the least. In the first few minutes, Ken won my mother over with his kind, laid back, caring manner. But not Ken. And that is when he won me over too! Throughout our visit, he patiently answered all of her questions (and mine) in detail. He set up a durable Power of Attorney, reviewed her will for any necessary changes, and gave us invaluable advice on how to handle the Medicaid application procedure when it became necessary. When that time came, he continued to be there for us whenever I had questions or concerns. I've realized that going through the Medicaid process is a huge battle, so it was wonderful to know that Ken and his staff were just a phone call away to advise me and settle my nerves. I give Ken my highest recommendation and truly can't say enough about him. He is extremely knowledgeable and compassionate, and goes out of his way to help his clients through what is usually a very difficult period.
