I would highly recommend Katrina Seipel and her team of attorneys at Buckley Law to anyone facing a serious family law matter and needs someone to fight for their child. Particularly when there is a history of abuse, substance use, mental health concerns, or a child's safety is at stake. I worked with Katrina during a very complex yet urgent case. While I already had full custody, the case centered on addressing the other parent's time with our child due to noncompliance with orders and safety concerns. From the beginning, Katrina and her team were steady, thorough, and incredibly effective. Her filings were clear and detailed, and she kept the court's focus on the most important priority, my child's safety and wellbeing. At the same time, she was considerate of my needs and thoughtful about costs, so I never felt I was spending money unnecessarily. What I valued most was Katrina's ability to balance compassion with professionalism. She took the time to explain each step, helped me feel supported during an overwhelming time, and advocated strongly for my family in court. Thanks to her dedication and expertise, we secured an immediate danger order, obtained a court order requiring a psychological evaluation for parental fitness, and implemented reunification therapy, domestic violence counseling, parenting skills courses, and supervised visitation. She also helped put a parenting coordinator in place to handle future disputes. This step will save time and money by avoiding repeated trips to court while providing clarity and protection moving forward. While the family court system is imperfect and often gives biological parents rights that far outweigh a child's implicit right to physical and emotional safety, Katrina still pushed for my child's rights to the full extent of the law. She advocated fiercely to put a plan in place that keeps my daughter as safe as possible. I am deeply grateful for her work and the security she has given my family.

I hired Buckley Law in Lake Oswego to draft a trust a few years ago. Recently, when I went back to them for further help, I was shocked to be told they would not work with me due to a vague "conflict of interest." They refused to explain what that conflict actually was. Their final message simply told me to find other counsel and even suggested that the documents they had originally prepared for me now "need to be amended." In other words, they will not stand behind their own work. To make matters worse, the attorney I originally worked with admitted he had moved to a different firm and wrote that he "cannot, nor does he wish to, share information learned in our prior work together." Essentially, he took my business elsewhere and left me with documents that may not even be reliable. I expected professionalism, accountability, and continuity from a law firm I trusted with something as important as estate planning. Instead, I was left with confusion, no support, and serious doubts about the quality of the trust they drafted. Very disappointed and would strongly caution others before relying on this firm.

I made an appointment with a female partner at this entity that was highly rated on Martindale Hubbell. As instructed I made a payment online for her one hour billing rate prior to the appointment. Upon arrival for my appointment the receptionist seemed confused that I had an appointment. After a few minutes I was taken to a conference room. After several minutes an associate entered the room and said the partner that my appointment was with had a "family emergency" a few hours before the Labor Day Weekend Holiday and that he would be the one conducting the appointment. There was no attempt by the law firm to call me, text me or email me to reschedule the appointment because of this "family emergency". The receptionist also did not mention the "family emergency" or that the Partner was not in the office. The Associate spent the entire hour speaking to me in a derogatory manner. If I pay for an hours time of a "Rising Star" that is what I expect to receive. Bait and Switch tactics with a 69 year old. You should be ashamed of yourself.

Mr. Bill Gaar provided expert guidance in short order to an urgent problem, not only did he carve out time for a prompt response, he was efficient, while knowledgeable and sensitive to my small business needs and situation.
