Margaret Hoy only cares about the money she was being paid. When we hired her in 2011 ( we were actually given her name from a prominent criminal lawyer) As it turned out she may have been good at what she does but sure wasnt competent at all. We spent hundreds of thousands of dollars. Staff changed on the regular. They complained about her. Should have listened to other reputables back then. She convinced us that we had a very strong case which i believe we had. Court finally came around in December of 2024. That was 13 years after the initial drama came into our lives. When we retained her we were told she would go after an amount and she would work on contingency. Not true. Not at all. Everytime we turned around she wanted more money. She didn't even prep the witnesses properly. Not my family, friends or my Doctor. She and the opposing lawyer had a huge hate for one another. Then the judge was an ex military judge. Uniforms to uniforms. So us being non military were not his favorites from the beginning. There were lies after lies on the stand from the opposing side. Everyone knew. We were not even finished the lengthy trial and her receptionist called and demanded the $ for the trial. Well over $75,000. We were supposed to be under contingency. We paid $5000 for a professional witness who was to do a proper report for us. This never happened. Apparently he got sick and couldn't do report. We still have never received the $5000 back. Very disorganized. Staff changes on the regular. They never had a good thing to say about her. We were in so deep that we hoped she would handle trial well. Even how she would show up for court. For so long i wasn't going to.post this review due to the negativity but i need for others to be very selective when hiring Ms.Hoy. She leads you to believe her. Takes all your money and runs. I want anyone who hires Ms.Hoy to be careful. Get everything on paper. Contingency to her doesnt exist. We of course lost our case. Thanks to Ms Hoy and the military judge . So many errors, misrepresentation and a legal system that has fallen. We learned the hard way. Be careful Be sure Have it all on paper so you have a leg to stand on. Anyone who was a part of this trial were not at all impressed with Ms. Hoy. We were very disappointed with her presentation and questioning. BE LEARY!!! Janice Campbell
