My strong advice to everyone is watch for Red Flags because your attorney could cause you to lose your case because of their incompetence and inability to handle your case correctly. Trust me when I say...ask frequently for updates and documentation to validate that there is focus concerning your case. Also, how I found out that work wasn't being done properly was by monitoring my case notes on the...Clerk of Courts Dockets for Lucas County Common Pleas Court Website. My family had a situation in which a mentally handicapped family member was abused at a local skilled nursing facility. We needed legal help and begin our search for legal representation by asking trusted friends, relatives, and business associates if they know of a reputable attorney. We were given the name of Attorney Gregg Peppel with Turley, Peppel and Christen. Attorney Peppel after reviewing the notes accepted to represent our handicapped family member, In theory, the relationship between a lawyer and his client should be pleasant, warm and simple. That is, a relationship of understanding and collaboration between parties. However that is far from what we experienced with Attorney Peppel. To summarize we experienced a lack of communication and incompetence, this inadequate legal work greatly jeopardize our family case so much so that the legal counsel representing the defendants filed a motion to dismiss the case because they had received no communication or reply's from Attorney Peppel for almost 5 months. Because Attorney Peppel took too long on this case and did such a poor job he did the ethical thing which was called our family and stated he was quitting the case. We were blindsided and left with no direction on how to proceed and didn't know where to turn. My strong advise is to constantly question your attorney, watch for red flags in regards to poor legal representation.

These attorneys are the most dedicated, hardworking, caring, and compassionate group you could ever have representing you. My case went on for years, and by the end, I truly felt like they were family. If you need someone to fight for you, look no further.
