Exceptional, compassionate, and thorough legal support Brumbaugh Law has been an incredible source of support for my family. They provided excellent, conscientious legal care for my father before he passed, handling every detail with professionalism and genuine compassion. Now, they continue to serve my elderly mother with the same level of dedication and personal attention. Their team is not only highly competent but also truly caring. Our primary Long Term Care Specialist, Jody Patynko, has been amazing. She has taken the time to explain each step, answer every question, and ensure our family's peace of mind during difficult times. I'm deeply grateful for Brumbaugh Law's integrity, expertise, and kindness. I would highly recommend Brumbaugh Law to anyone seeking trustworthy and empathetic legal guidance.

I initially attended the seminar Michael Brumbaugh held last fall in 2024 to obtain some basic information about possible needs for assisted living, nursing homes and Medicaid as I was taking on the responsibility of my elderly parents' care/financial management. At the time, they were currently living in Independent Living. I have a 35+ year nursing background in Geriatrics, Acute and Post-Acute Care Management, and Medicare and Insurance and thought I had a solid understanding of "how all this works". It is quite different when you suddenly "inherit" the the responsibility of a loved one, and don't truly know what your loved ones have/had. I didn't have the luxury of a POA when I took on the responsibility. There were no current living wills, healthcare durable power of attorneys, etc. I was totally unaware of the amount of time and effort entailed in gathering the documentation needed for care planning and for an anticipated Medicaid application. Nor did I know all the details of what needed to be done in terms of pre-needs, pay-offs, etc. Brumbaugh's team was an immense help to me, in terms of what needed to be done, what could be done and how to do it. Although I spent many hours of my own time over the course of months working on this process with them, I know I would not have been able to do it without them. They were reliable, respectful, empathetic and timely in getting information and communication back and forth to me. I can't say enough about what a relief it was to have their service. And, the peace of mind that if I need them again in the future, they are only a phone call or email away.

Jody and Pam were incredible! They helped me navigate a friend going on medicaid and her passing and all the paperwork and problems that come with that. They are very knowledgeable, professional, courteous, trustworthy and patient! I highly recommend their services!!

From the time my mother went into assisted living, Brumbaugh Law Firm did an amazing job of submitting a Medicaid application and protecting her assets. This involved sorting through five years of bank statements and documenting every transaction that might raise a red flag with Medicaid, and setting up a Medicaid Compliant Annuity to pay off the non-compliant transactions during a restricted approval phase, while protecting a large portion of the estate in a gift Trust. The biggest obstacle to overcome was getting a suitable POA in place, because the POA my mother had executed a few years prior was general and did not provide for gifting to a Trust. They sent an attorney and social worker to assisted living to meet with my mother and me and worked through the process of setting up the legal documents we required. They were kind and caring and made sure she was competent to understand what she was signing. I believe they conduct their business with compassion and integrity. They were patient and helpful with me through some frustrating moments involving complex situations. The online portal they use is user friendly and effective for communicating and uploading documentation. I highly recommend seeing them if you are or have an elderly parent may be need assisted living in the coming years, in order to preserve your legacy for your heirs, rather than losing your life savings to a nursing home or assisted living facility.
