I hired Stephanie (and Pam!) to handle my divorce after dealing with a LOT of frustration with my previous lawyer (I.e., expensive billings every 2 weeks, not responsive to email, no results in almost a year, etc.). In less than 3 months, she finalized my divorce and avoided trial. We won on all of the major points in both the divorce and child custody. Stephanie was extremely responsive to my questions and concerns, provided AMAZING results from day 1, and ended up costing a fraction of what my previous lawyer billed. Long story! After being advised to wait a year for an adoption case by Stephanie, I did just that. My first contact was 1/17/23 with her office for a step-parent adoption. Ohio requires you to be married for 1 year prior to start the process, fine no problem! I reach back out on 6/6/24 to have a discovery call to only be told it will be a few months before she can work on my case, no problem I will wait since most other lawyers are busy too. I scheduled another discovery call with her on 9/27/24 (in which I had to call her office, there was no coordinated call from her office saying she could take the case on, I was just expected to keep reaching back out to them?) I receive the intake form 9/27/24 which took me a few days to gather information for, but I submitted it. The packet also required some additional documents which took me 2 1/2 months to gather. I schedule a call for today 1/2/24 in which I receive an email from Pam that they're not taking any new clients because of the current case load.... My mistake, I guess waiting almost two years from the initial contact, makes me a new client. Mind you, was never asked for a retainer, I have MetLife legal insurance, etc. The worst experience I've ever had with an attorney's office. I've had my fair share of attorneys, and this one couldn't be worse with coordination, communication, and client experience.
