I, Chuck Wagner, am responding to this complaint because it is absolutely false and would like to explain the facts with this client Kristen Lewis 2 reviews 2 months ago "Women filling for a divorce STAY AWAY!!!" Ms. Lewis came to me after she was fired from another attorney. I asked for a retainer of 3500.00 and she signed a fee agreement stating that was my retainer and I charge 300/hour. She signed same on 02/29/21 with a payment of 1300.00 and a written statement (see attached) from her agreeing that she would pay the balance with her income tax refund, which she never did. "this man allowed my ex to sell mutual property before it was settled never seen to it that I get half of anything!" Ms. Lewis did receive her equity in the house that was sold and assumed that she would be paying me the balance of her account which was 3500.00 at the time (Total was 4800.00 - 1300.00 of her retainer). I did not receive any payment at all and her promise was obviously made under false pretenses. "Didn't include my half of the debt but I had to pay my exs half and on TOP of all that ....he said my ex didn't have to pay child support! Found that out when the judge read it in court!" With respect to the assertion that Ms. Lewis was responsible for paying her husband's debt, I invite anyone to go to Montgomery County Pro and review items 8&11 of Ms. Lewis final judgment and decree of divorce being case number 2020-DR-0029. She was not responsible to pay any of her husband's debt and in fact owed him money for obligations that he occurred on her behalf. With respect to the child support, Ms. Lewis signed a shared parenting plan which specifically stated that the parties were alternating parenting time with their minor children on a week to week basis and that no child support was to be exchanged. The child support computation worksheet reflects that the parties incomes were essentially the same. "Then because I can only afford $15 a month has Threatened me called me hung up on me multiple times And as now sending my account to collections because he ruined me financially what a guy!!!!": Ms. Lewis was contacted after not paying her bill since her retainer when she came in 02/2021. She made an agreement on 02/2022 that she would pay 15.00 a month. She paid a total of 105.00 and quit paying on 05/2022. I called her in September/2022 to inquire why she quit paying. She asked for my supervisor - which is a joke - I am self employed and not a member of a firm. She proceeded to tell me that she could have handled her case better, cussing and so forth. I hung up on her--only once. After that I did have to turn her in. I did the job and obviously she is difficult. I should of fired her like her first attorney did when her bill was so overdue but trusted her to honor her word. Obviously, someone is being totally dishonest and it isn't this attorney.
