Back in August, Amourgis & Associates approached us about our eligibility to find relief from our overwhelming debt by filing a chapter 7 bankruptcy. After a few phone calls they told us we would qualify based on debt and income. Overall the experience has been easy and straightforward. There was a lull in communication a few weeks into the process after we started making payments on the retainer. They would schedule appointments to go over things and then not follow through on the appointments, we felt like we were forgotten once they started getting payments. But after a phone call to their customer service, all of our concerns were addressed and ever since then they have been on the ball with communication every step of the way. We were assigned to a paralegal on the team named Ned, and Ned was excellent with communicating and setting expectations. He would follow through on every task and appointment with no issues. Ned really turned around the whole experience for us, thanks Ned! We are a few weeks from filling so hopefully everything turns out and once it's all done we will give an update but so far, we are pleased with Amourgis & Associates.

EDIT: (after receiving the notice that I will get information on October 2, then we will get refund review status BY OCTOBER 4 at 5:00 pm). No emails, texts or calls as if 7:02 pm. Next stop is Better Business Bureau and a new attorney. Considering filing a complaint with the Ohio State BAR association. I repeat. Zero stars. Do not recommend. EDIT: (6 days later after receiving the "we take this very seriously") Email and text messages were sent requesting my money paid to be reimbursed as well as the fees our lender assessed us due to the lag time in the firms speed. The last set of emails included a due date of October 1. As of 12:50 pm, no emails, no texts, no phone messages. Very seriously, indeed. I am starting to evaluate other counsel to assist us. If you are fine with being passed through several "attorneys" and four "legal assistants" who don't call at appointment times they set up then these people are for you. If you're fine with not evaluating all your options and rushing you to make decisions you haven't fully talked over with your significant other, these are people are for you. If you're ok with emails from people who use "different" names than they give you, tell you information different than an "attorney" and not asking questions you have, these people are for you. If you send emails and texts and are ignored, that's right-these are the perfect people. Considering hiring a different attorney to get my money back. Also considering filing a BBB complaint and calling media investigative services. Scam. Horrible. Zero stars. DO NOT RECOMMEND.

This firm is incredibly thorough and helped me every step of the way while filing my bankruptcy. Ned is my paralegal and is very helpful with the steps needed to be taken in order to complete my filing. He is very patient and professional during our calls, and helped me navigate through the different pieces of information needed. Both phone calls were scheduled for 5 pm, and as soon as the clock struck 5, my phone was ringing. I couldn't have asked for a better law firm to assist me. If I could give more stars, I definitely would.

Went back to this company because they helped me file a chapter 7 and it was good! Came back in the last month and it's been awful! Read all these reviews and you will see the trend that they have fallen off. Been trying to talk to my paralegal to work things out and make sure my chapter 13 will go smoothly and overtime I call in scheduled for a call and never get it and when I call I I'm told my paralegal is there but on a call but will call me back and never does! I could see once or twice but it keeps happening and I'm so thankful I havent paid them anymore! There is definitely better firms out there it's a shame to because they were once very good and seemed to care. My advice if your reading this is too find some place else until they fix there reputation.

Filed for chapter 7 bankruptcy, and all I got was calls and no meetings in person? They didn't tell me anything about what chapter 7 bankruptcy requires, just gave me a packet and that's it. I asked on the first call what happened during chapter 7, and they didn't answer me. They ignored me and said the paralegal would explain in the next call (2 weeks later). $1700 dollars for them to give me digital papers and to "guide me" via calls and ignore my questions, not worth it and I've emailed them to see if I can get their services canceled. Unhelpful bankruptcy lawyers in my opinion.
