12/04/2023 | filed a chapter 7 bankruptcy with Amourgis & Associates. I got in contact with the attorney multiple times to try to cancel my bankruptcy case, but he kept persuading me to file anyway even though I requested to cancel. Each time I contacted the firm, the receptionist said that someone would contact me about this matter. The only time they contacted me was to collect a payment. I did receive a letter in the mail regarding cancellation of my case in 10 days if payment was not made. I spoke to the person in charge of cancellations & refunds & he refused as well explaining that they already spent time on my case. I feel like it's all a lie to collect more money they even told me missing a phone call & leaving a voicemail is still a charge inquired upon my case which is very fraudulent and that was never disclosed. I would like my refund or I will be contacting the local bar association

Had an initial call with these people. He did not care about my situation at all, did not ask me any questions about it, did not explain how chapter 7 bankrupcy works or why we were doing that over say a chapter 11 or anything else, all he did was try to lock me into bi weekly payments. all he wanted to know is how much i could afford to pay every 2 weeks and when i could start payments and he wanted me to give him an exact date. like dude, Im doing this because i cant afford the payments I have lol, how can i commit to a bi weekly payment with you without knowing anything! Then here is the fun part, he told me to just put the laywer fees on our credit card because it will be writen off anyway in the bankruptcy. Thats a direct violation of Section 526(a)(4) of the Bankruptcy Code. Luckly that call we recorded so im just sending it to the Bar association and see what they think. These guys either do not know what they are doing or do things very shady that could end up getting YOU in trouble. Just avoid them, there are many other better law firms.
