King Law Firm

Our estate planning portfolio was transferred to King after our attorney retired. I called today to have a change made, and was told they do not offer that service anymore (since over a year ago). I asked why we were not advised...never received a letter etc. She said we did not do notications and recommended to find someone else. So glad I found this out before it was too late. After seeing all the negative reviews, I see my opinion is not alone. Not even a 1 star...

I retained King Law Firm in February of 2022. The first lawyer i had was competent and made me feel like I had someone that would fight. Fast forward about 3 months and he left the firm. I was given 3 more attorneys (all left the firm except the last). Communication was nil, didn't know the case at all, and just in general gave me the runaround. Last lawyer withheld evidence, didn't call on witnesses that were subpoenaed and cost me my case. I could say ALOT more about my experience, the takeaway here is DO NOT hire king law firm!

I hired King law firm almost two years ago. The first lawyer I was assigned would at least contact me. After he left and I was assigned at least three other lawyers that I was aware of I never heard from any of them. I remained in contact every 2-3 weeks calling asking who my lawyer was only to be given the run around for nearly a year! I called again today to check about my case, who's my lawyer, what's happening with my case??? I received a call back where I was spoken AT not to and told they had withdrawn from my case with zero contact after walking on egg shells for a year trying to be polite as possible to this firm. I was on the phone crying, pleading with them to let me speak as a human and a mother and I was hung up on twice. I feel defeated after fighting so hard and begging them to help me like they were hired to do. If you are a single parent and struggling, I am telling you, you not your children matter at all to these people. Do not give them a dime of your money because they won't even give you a minute of their time. Edit to include that King law firm responded to my review asking me to call them to discuss this. I have called to try and discuss this, as I stated in my review I was spoken down to and hung up on so who exactly do I call that will actually speak to me and listen to me?! King Law firm has my file, whoever I should be "speaking to" that will actually listen could easily reach out and give me a call.

My fiance and I were referred to this firm by a very well-known, NC retired, attorney for his divorce. We originally, retained one attorney and paid in full for him 14 MONTHS ago at the initial consult (an attorney, I used in the past and trusted). Shortly after, he left the firm and we were appointed a new attorney. It has been a disaster every since. An easy divorce, no children, no properties, no spousal support, ex agreed to the divorce. Then, all of sudden the attorney does nothing. His ex is contacting me demanding the divorce papers that we don't even have because the last time she talked to the lawyer, she agreed to the divorce and thought it was under way. We have contacted the attorney may times via phone and email. Nothing, crickets in the backdrop. We've even contacted Kenneth one of the partners of the firm, to no avail....We've offered more money....Called the Clerk of Court, nothing has been done on this case since February. This is so sad, my fiance is a hardworking man who doesn't make a lot of money, who saved to come up with this retainer, and doesn't deserve this. We are completely dismayed... WHY, I just want to know why????

I have had an absolute horrible experience with this firm so far. I'm starting to wonder if I have made a huge mistake in hiring them. In the beginning I hired them paid half upfront and done what was recommended by their lawyer. From the time I hired them until the next court date I had only emailed with my lawyer once. I had reached out to her multiple times and couldn't get a response. I called and texted and called the office and never gotten a response. The first court date was continued that's ok. Now let's fast forward heading into the second court date and could never get a response from anyone. Then I was called the night before court aprox. 1730 and was told my lawyer was no longer employed. Then when I asked who would be representing me, and did they have knowledge of anything I sent in or what was going on their reply was we don't know yet but someone will be there for you tomorrow. They told me I didn't need to be there because they would get it continued. Mind you I live 3.5hrs from there I had already made arrangements for sleeping and travel and was already there just to be called the evening before with this information. Continue fast forwarding I have court again next week I have been trying to get in touch with who is allegedly going to be representing me with multiple emails and a phone call no response. Now I get a response by email just stating I owe money. Not one answer to my question never have spoken to this "new" lawyer and not know what to expect going into court next week. Why is it so hard to get an answer from anyone I give 2 to 3 business days for a response before I try again. Coming from a profession where I get between 300 and 800 emails a day I believe this is sufficient enough time for acknowledgment. As of now I do not recommend anyone hiring this firm. I also will not be paying anything else until they start holding up their end of the agreement. Lastly I have saved all my attempts at getting in touch with them and their responses or lack of to be able to submit to bbb should I chose to find someone else to represent me. As an update they said my emails came off strong and they are now choosing not to represent me any longer. She was professional on the phone which is appreciated however I called them to explain my emails. She stated she emailed me back on all emails but that is not true. They also said they did their part so they will not be refunding me money. They said they have tried to contact me but no one has left voice-mail on my phone. I feel as though I was not compensated for what I tried to recieve. I do not recommend this firm.
