Dustin and his paralegal were an absolute pleasure to work with. Both were very transparent and informative anytime I had questions or concerns. Anytime I called I would get a response quickly, a lot of times within an hour or so if not at the time of the call. I hired Dustin to represent me in wildlife game violation. The only thing I asked of his service was " to be informed and no surprises on court day". They took the case and my money. During the entire process I would have to call the office to see what was going on. He gave me info on what he would do for me. Like pay a fine etc. Court day rolls around. When I'm called,Dustin tells the court he has 3 minutes before he is due in superior court. No argument was made on my behalf,the judge issues prayer of judgement on my behalf. As we exit,Dustin tells me it looks like I got off pretty good and quickly leaves to go to Superior Court. Game warden catches me, proceeds to take my lifetime hunting license. Additionally,my gun and hunting items were seized when I was caught. The WGC officer tells me he is not sure if I get my gun/ items back. I call Dustin and he says the Game warden can't take my license and items. Dustin tells me he is going to file a motion to get items back. Days go by and I have to call Dustin to get a update on what's going on. Again I'm told this and that but no action is taken. Two days later I received an email from Dustin that has attached a motion. The motion states for my items to be returned BUT the WRC can take my license. I emailed back asking if that's what it REALLY said. His paralegal responded she would ask Dustin. Two days later I received a response saying " yes,that's correct". So would I recommend Dustin Nichols? Absolutely not, the experience was poor to say the least and I did not receive really any representation and I essentially paid them to complicate the matter. Stokes county court doesn't work as it should. Every person going through this court is guilty until proven otherwise. You really don't stand a legal chance nor does Stokes county have any lawyers that will argue " guilt" on your behalf. It's a revenue pony show. My guilt was never argued and I was charged with " taking wildlife" with an air rifle and the argument was simple. Nothing was taken. I attempted but did not take an animal. If you find yourself in legal trouble,hire outside of Stokes county because the legal representation you seek does not reside in Stokes county. You'd have better luck and service having the folks to your left or right in the courthouse that could represent you better and possibly know the laws than use this firm.
