It is crucial for members of the Charlotte community to be well-informed when selecting legal counsel. Regrettably, my experience with Michael Elliot has raised significant concerns. Specifically, his refusal to work in good faith even if representing the other party with pro se clients, alongside troubling reports of involvement in unethical blacklisting practices, is deeply concerning. Regardless of the side one represents, an attorney should uphold the highest standards of professionalism, fairness, and collaboration. And they must follow the law. Unfortunately, Mr. Elliot's conduct appears to fall short of these expectations. His interactions have been unnecessarily combative, unprofessional, and dismissive, even when approached in a respectful and professional manner. Moreover, I have been contacted by former clients of his, who have shared similar negative experiences, further highlighting these issues, and these are people who hire him. Legal professionals are entrusted with the responsibility of advocating for justice, not creating barriers to it. If you are considering engaging with Michael Elliot, I encourage you to exercise caution and remain fully informed. It is vital that we work with attorneys who are respectful, ethical, and willing to engage in constructive dialogue, regardless of the nature of representation. He will pay to have this removed. Which is fine, but the truth comes out eventually.
