I paid Doby in advance to represent me in an 'suspected DWI' case that encompassed severe asthma and a compressed spinal cord. I filled out Doby's medical release form, but he never requested records and refused to let me help get them. He didn't read the particulars or have the pre and post surgery images I sent him at the hearing, but afterwards he suddenly started 'demanding' I get medical records, because the release form was "too vague". I emailed the 'hearing notice' several times and kept asking if he received it. Doby refused to respond and was a NO-SHOW. He also told them I didn't send it and later moved the second hearing from 8:30 am to 2:30 pm without telling me. At the first court appearance my allergy-asthma was full-blown, so Doby told me to go home and he'd tell me what happened afterwards. Months later and less than two weeks before trial, Doby still hadn't informed me the trial was even scheduled and he refused to respond to my requests to review the events and go over hearing procedures. I initially didn't care about being targeted, but before hearing the report Doby stated on record that, "no one was accusing the officer of targeting" and "his actions were honorable". Although the report and cop confirmed I never refused a breathalyzer, 95% of his report was fabricated to make it 'appear' I was extremely intoxicated and purposely didn't blow hard enough. It was obvious the cop knew my inhaler caused the initial .07 reading because he also claimed I never said anything about having asthma or difficulty breathing and denied seeing me use an inhaler. Assuming I did, what half sensible person would 'purposely' not breath hard enough for the breathalyzer, but omit having severe asthma an two inhalers in their purse? Doby didn't reiterate the stop was during peek fall pollen season, the DMV hearing was during peek spring pollen season and he personally saw the severity of my asthma during the cold-dry winter that was also peek ragweed season. Doby didn't even mention Albuterol inhalers cause false positives and he refused to question any of the report's conflicting or incorrect statements; I have a MD driver's license not NC, I failed 6 parts of a 3 part SFST that I didn't even do and the cop omitted I waited in his passenger seat while he DROVE MY CAR! Most importantly, when I specifically asked Doby for 'legal guidance' on how to best confront the lies without revealing too much of his 'would be trial defense', Doby literally refused. Now Doby is 'swearing' he invested ten hours on my case and wants to keep most of the money without proving exactly what he did do.

Called to ask a question and was informed for $250 consultation fee I can meet with the lawyer and ASK if he handles what I need.... Not a simple phone call where he can answer YES or NO then the consultation... $250 to ask a question.. Pretty steep
