Fortunately, I found Tom who told me the only things I had to rewrite for North Carolina were a few documents, but definitely not the will itself. He listens to your needs and wants and helps you create documents that you need in a fair and understanding way. I never felt I was "just an account" but a person with legal needs. Tom has been our attorney for many years. He has been easy to deal with and very helpful and responsive whenever we have needed his help. Recently our daughter, who lives in England, was having a big issue with trying to close on the sale of their house they own here in Raleigh. Since my daughter lived overseas the Title company for the buyers here would not be flexible or make an exception to accept their video notarized signatures. It was also impossible for them to be here in person to sign off on their deal due to Covid-19 travel restrictions. I called Tom and asked him what advice or where my daughter could turn to for help. Tom gave us the name of a local Real Estate Attorney he has dealt with as well as referring them to the NC Secretary of State website for further guidance. He also suggested they look into a local attorney in the town they live in to see if they specialize in international real estate deals for Ex-Pats. Our daughter was able to close on their house! Just knowing that we could just call Tom for advice because he is easy to reach and he responds quickly, gives us peace of mind we have an attorney who has our best interests at heart.
