Parnell & Scales Law Office

My husband and I have used Mr. Parnell for 10+ years. He is a bit hard to get ahold of, but always gets the case resolved. In most cases it's resolved in our favor. I will continue to use him until he retires. I recommend his firm to everyone who needs a lawyer.

Mr parnell is the best there is .. he has help me and my family on multiple occasions, I will continue using him as long as he is in practice.. we absolutely love him.. thank you Mr Parnell for all you do and the time you take with your clients

Parnell's name being known in the county for 30 years gets his business. His actual abilities to litigate cases are completely shot. I had a pending case in Stanly already and hired him on a Union County traffic ticket at the same time. He never appeared to represent me nor could the firm get in contact with the lawyer that they "middle man" to because according to them he had been disbarred. The lawyer they paid for in Union County never showed up. I was never called by the firm to be informed that they could not contact anyone at the firm OR the DA's office in Union County. While keeping in mind I paid Parnell upwards of $750 to litigate a traffic ticket. He NEVER told me that there was a middle man and that I wouldn't even be represented by Parnell. Overall experience of around a year and a half with them, they were awful! Absolutely ZERO communication between client and firm to the point you don't even have a lawyer that you paid for in another county when you thought you were covered.

So I had Mr Scales appointed to a case involving my business and honestly I think Scales is a really good man, however, getting in touch with him is almost impossible to do and communication has definitely been an issue. Sometimes it's as if maybe he has to much going on, but regardless you must take care of your clients. I have no doubt in his ability as a lawyer, but even some of the office assistants can and often are very rude and condescending over the phone, and forget about getting a timely response. When your client does their part in keeping up with court date by checking the websites, and calling the office to never get a response, and never mind the changes that are barely announced that the website for looking up court dates or filing paperwork has changed, even still getting in touch with one of your clients should be priority, regardless of paid or appointed. So all in all I gave the law office a solid two stars for their combined expertise, but that's it.

Parnell law firm has had a great reputation for years since before the current location and before the added partners to the firm. I hired Scales on a case in Montgomery co end of 2023. He was recommended by Butch in Biscoe. Jenkins is a respectable attorney with several years' experience, so I trust his recommendations. Mr. Andrew Scales from the start is easy to talk to, he is kind, humble, professional and makes himself available to his clients/client's friends/family (being the client in this case is incarcerated). He responds in a timely manner even when he probably has a lot going on in other cases and his own life, but he makes time to respond which i find to be very considerate and professional on his part. Mr. Scales doesn't make you go through secretaries; one can just contact him directly. I find that to be uncommon but very admirable. I only saw him at work in the court room once. He seemed confident in his ability and seems as though he feels at home which is a good sign. That shows he may have a decent work relationship with those in the courtroom. He is still working on this case so I will give an update when all is finished but so far he has done an incredible job and seems to have the clients best interest in mind. I don't have any complaints. I highly recommend Andrew Scales and would hire him again if ever needed. I have absolutely no regrets in having him as the attorney for this case. Costs were a little high but expected due to the type of charges and complexity of this case. The firms I spoke to were in this price range. He did work with me on a payment plan so don't let the rates scare you away. They do work with you, and they are worth the price. The office staff is really kind and helpful too. Great vibes from everyone in this law firm.
