If you want an honest review please read. It'll be lengthy, yet informative. I met with Ms.Colombo For a consultation on July 21st 2023. Now, before I begin my review I'd like to note here that this woman's candor was so horrific that today, February 2nd 2024 the details are still engrained within my mind. To the point I feel as if it would be unfair to continue on without warning anyone else. My case was one that was about severe horrific and prolific domestic violence. Domestic violence which included (but was not specific to) burns being placed onto my skin with hot curling irons, my head being bashed in, my child being abused, etc. I met with Mrs.Colombo on July 21st because my child's father isn't only abusive he's also incapable of not being, not in control. (Abusive men file for custody to control the mothers relationship with the child) He'd filed a petition for sole custody,requesting my rights be terminated via my mental health (the audacity). He'd taken me to court 3 times before in just 3 short years, had multiple arrest records for assault against me and there was court record testimony from previous witnesses that detailed his sudden violent episodes. In essence, I figured it would be easy for any attorney to simply see this pattern of behavior. Our meeting began with Ms.Colombo asking me about I and my Ex's children. I stated that I and my child's father had 4 children, however 3 were stillborn. Before I could explain that for religious reasons I don't renounce my other 3 children, This woman threw her papers onto her desk, and looked at me with piercing eyes- Verbatim she shouted into my face : "we're not doing that, that's what we're not going to do - we're not going to talk about them, - I only have concern with your living child". I felt so disrespected, so embarrassed. This ordeal of ridicule,and scorn went on for another 30 minutes. During,that time there were several times during the reading of the petition when this woman would look at me and ask me these insensitive yet almost mocking questions like : 1. "so there was a fight? Who won?" 2. "What kind of drugs do you do? He says you do drugs". 3. "He says you have vermin in your house. Why would he make this up?" 4. Sounds like he made a mistake when he had a child with you and now he just wants him back. My stomach began to turn. I'd explained to her my abuse, i'd explained I could simply open my phone and show burn marks, videos of me being called the b-word in front of my son, you name it. I even gave the details of how he's 50, I'm 26 and our relationship began when I was 18. This woman had all the info to know what this situation was, And, it was almost as if this woman got off on this. How sick. When mrs Colombo asked me about my education, I answered truthfully: I have a B.S in Psychology. She then stated : "not what he says, he says you're derailing". This ended when she accused me of being unable to afford her bill. She actually stated that she didn't believe I made $1200.00 per week. Why because I'm black? Or because I'm a victim of domestic violence and they're all stupid? I could not then nor can I now, believe how a female attorney in a field dominated, and controlled by men conducted herself and handled a victim of domestic violence. You're a family court attorney who vowed to uphold the law, laws which strictly prohibit abuse and demand for children to be protected. Yet you found amusement in the abuse of a child and his mother. Today, my child's father awaits trial for assault with a deadly weapon. Ms.Colombo, I hope and pray that there is a day that I come accords a news article that you've been disbarred- or perhaps the neuro condition would assist first. -------------- You proclaim that with all of your years of experience and education that you could not assist me, however- my attorney was less than half your age with a quarter of your experience. Kind words cannot sugar coat- what you did was prolific.

Thank you for all that you have done for my child and our family! You truly have been a blessing. Your hard work, diligence, and caring meant the world to us, you really went the extra mile. I'm very happy with this office. Ms. Colombo's knowledge of family law is fantastic and she works behind the scenes to make things happen. Don't expect constant updates or babysitting, she's not that kind of lawyer. But, if you clearly communicate your goals she will do her best to make it happen. If you are looking for someone to stand up for you and your children, she's the one you want.
