I purchased a house in cash in May and was told by Darcy it was a simple sale that would close quickly. Despite repeated follow-ups, I keep getting the same response that it will be handled "ASAP," yet it's now August with no update on where things stand. This delay and lack of communication are unacceptable and reflect poorly on their professionalism.

I would also give 0 stars if I could, there is no way to reach these people. I don't think they listen to their voicemails or call back. It's been weeks I cannot contact anyone.

If I could put down 0 stars.. I would! I have been trying to buy some property for almost 3 months now and the lack of communication that I had received, or I should say none at all! I was told almost a month ago that paperwork was sent to the sellers of the property was being sent to them and that we should get our copies once they were signed. That was WEEKS AGO! Annnd still nothing, they did not send out the paperwork to the sellers! The sellers are now getting annoyed from the lack of communication from their Paralegal Darcy! I had asked for the ESTIMATE of the closing costs for all of this and was told that they were not able to send those out yet. We were told that we could close at the end of the month, and here we are, at the end of the month with still no more paperwork to sign. No closing cost estimate. This is the first time I've bought property, and the first time dealing with a lawyer like this. And it is the worst experience of my life. NEVER AGAIN!
If you're thinking about using them, DON'T!

Working with Bill's team was a great experience. They assisted me all the way through the process of purchasing my first home. I was impressed with their due diligence of the property and problem resolution. Closing was smooth and all my questions and concerns were addressed. The value provided for their fee was beyond worth every cent. When I got to the office I was greeted very nicely with the reception and felt comfortable. Thank you Bill, April and Tess for all your hard work.

First, this law firm's performance has significantly declined over the past twelve years. I specifically requested Xander to handle my foreclosure/bankruptcy case since he was the lawyer who represented me when I first purchased the home twelve years ago. Initially, Xander showed concern when I mentioned receiving photocopied bank statements and asked me to bring them in for review. I visited the firm on June 12th to meet with Xander, but instead, I was handed off to an assistant. I was informed that a different attorney would handle my case and that the attorney I was supposed to meet had chosen to go to Oneonta that day instead. The assistant, who had no knowledge of foreclosure/bankruptcy cases, made some photocopies, making the trip a waste of time for my father and me.
On July 3rd, I received a call from another assistant named Darcy. She mentioned that an attorney named Bill Casey had called and talked to me about my case, which was untrue. No one had called me until July 3rd, and it was the assistant. She also stated that they couldn't handle my case as the firm does not handle bankruptcies/foreclosures despite their involvement in real estate transactions. Darcy admitted that although the firm couldn't help me, they were still interested in the status of my bankruptcy/foreclosure. This admission indicates that the firm accessed my confidential information not to assist me but to gather information for their purposes, which is highly illegal. This is the second law firm caught engaging in such practices, the first being Coughlin and Gerhardt, which I also reviewed negatively on Google and Facebook.
