Divorce is a horrible process no matter who your attorney is. Carol is professional and well respected amongst her peers. She is factual and blunt, she tells you exactly how it is. I highly recommend her. Don't expect miracles in the family court system and don't expect daily updates from your atty. Gather information she requests and provide it in the days before court and you will get thru it. Carol is an attorney who knows her stuff. Her paralegal is very pleasant, responsive, respectful and empathetic. Carol was successful in getting a family member the best possible results and I would refer her above all others. Thank you Carol & Wendy for doing what you do. Your jobs are not easy!

Had multiple phone conversations with Mr. Steinhaus regarding retaining them for an insurance claim. After our last and lengthy phone conversation he said the next step was to sign a retainer and that his son -who is new to the firm-would be in touch. I never heard from his son. I called back 2 separate times over the course of several months and spoke with the office paralegal/secretary. I finally got a call back from the paralegal/secretary saying the attorney says I never retained them and he is busy with trials. I would not use this law firm.

We were notified that Carol was appointed to represent my step-daughter in a case that's going on through the court system. Prior to court, Carol was informed that we (myself and my step-daughters mother) were not going to be the ones taking my step daughter to court due to recovering from surgery, but that her father would be there with my step daughter. We informed Carol that we would like to get an update as to what happened, and asked for a phone call to discuss what happened in court. On the day of court, I called and spoke to the receptionist for Carol, and asked her to remind Carol to please call us and let us know what happened. That was January 4th. To this day (January 13th) we are yet to get a phone call. Another phone call requesting an update was made on January 9th, still nothing. The lack of simple communication is disturbing to say the least. Furthermore, when you do speak on the phone with Carol, she has a tendency to be unprofessional by cutting you off when you are trying to answer her question. I felt like I was on the stand instead of trying to speak with the lawyer chosen to represent my step daughter. Update: Carol was assigned as my step-daughters law guardian for a custody matter that was in court yesterday. When Carol entered the waiting area outside of part 6 of the Erie County Family Court Building, she came in saying "DON'T WORRY EVERYBODY, KAREN IS HERE!" She repeated this multiple times loud enough for everyone in the waiting area to hear, making quite the unprofessional spectacle of herself.

Robert steinhaus has got to be one of the best badass lawyers in New York state. Robert goes above and beyond and really puts the boots to the courts. He has helped me out on some really major charges. And the outcome of these charges are way more phenomenal than any lawyer could probably get you. I highly recommend and I mean highly recommend hiring Robert Steinhaus as your attorney. . He's extremely well known everyone that I have mentioned my attorney to these were the words that I was told pretty much by 90% of them he is one badass lawyer that doesn't screw around. And that comes from all walks of life. I personally highly recommend you also asking about him to other people I've never heard not one bad thing about him. I've also been told he's very highly respected in the courtrooms and that I can see myself. Thank you Robert and for your team for everything they have ever done for me and my father much love and respect.

If I could give Carol Flattery zero stars I would. My daughters dad assaulted me in front of her and has become mentally unstable over the years. During the 8 months of court hearings Not one person brought up the Domestic Violence that occurred. Instead they ruled that he has the same parental rights that I have. The court system is a joke. Definitely choose another lawyer that actually cares about the wellbeing of their client. I will do everything I can to remove her from our lives.
