Client
Ida Comerford misrepresented the services her firm offered, refused to take accountability for the poor management of her staff, and then discriminated against me by dropping me because her staff and she were unwilling to make a simple accommodation of communicating with me in writing, and refusing to warn me if a phone call was absolutely necessary. This was made apparent when she decided to CALL me unannounced to tell me that they don't do worker's comp case, and that I should find a law firm that is okay with me texting and emailing with them. Excuse me? Saying that to an Autistic man is like telling a client in a wheelchair that they don't have a ramp and only represent people who can physically make it up their steps, or that it doesn't matter if I need glasses because they only help clients who can read and I should find a firm that's willing to communicate out loud. I was referred to Hiller and Comerford by Atticus for my workers comp and disability case only to spend weeks explaining every painful detail before Ida Comerford herself lies to me and says that they don't even do worker's comp when it's clearly listed in their services. You're lucky if they even remember your name while representing you due to their poor management from partners like Ida Comerford Esq., unrealistic workloads for their staff, and high turnover. My 1st lawyer literally quit in between the time Atticus recommended them and when I reached out a day later! You're better off representing yourself than wasting months of your time. You've been warned. Proceed at your own risk. Find someone local who cares to represent you; avoid them and Atticus. In the meantime, I think that Ida and others there need their licenses reviewed and that they need to undergo some kind of disability sensitivity training... I will be filling a complaint, and I urge anyone else who's had similar experiences with them to file one also so that these issues don't get buried under the rug. The only positive things that I can say about them is that my second case manager, Caitlin, was on point and great to work with, and that Ida was quick to verbally release me from my contract after denying me disability accommodations and service for what I can only assume was her taking my issues for being difficult... Frankly, it's gross behavior.
