Mr. Salem was paid to send a cease-and-desist letter, but it came back as undeliverable. He was then paid a retainer to file a complaint for delivery by sheriff. Weeks went by with no updates. Emails received only out-of-office replies. Phone calls went unanswered. When he finally called back, he apologized and promised to have the complaint ready by a certain court date. When that date arrived, nothing had been filed. He offered to prepare an affirmation letter to use in the meantime. That never arrived either. After more waiting, he was emailed stating that if he did not file by a Friday at 5 p.m., the filing would proceed without his help. Another out-of-office reply followed, and Friday came and went with no response. A few days later, my family went to the clerk's office and filed it. When asked for a refund, he said the complaint was unnecessary anyway. After being reminded that he was retained for that specific purpose, and that he failed to deliver anything after two months of waiting, he finally emailed a complaint document. Since we cannot file twice, his version cannot be used. He also sent an invoice alleging the retainer was consumed with email correspondence, yet most messages went unanswered. If we had not needed to repeatedly reach out, or resend information already provided, there would not have been as many emails. Instead of issuing a refund or providing an accurate accounting, his invoice includes dates and details that do not match actual email records or timestamps. I hope that sharing this experience helps others who might be considering his services.
