We started out in an OK place but there was a definite spiral during the purchase process. Some thoroughness and attentiveness from the admin in the beginning, but once that person was no longer available, we found ourselves making multiple calls and emails to try and get information and help. The seller's side made multiple rebuttals and extreme requests. It's unfortunate since the buyer was a senior. There was no fight or negotiation at all. Once the purchase was over, responses to our outreach lessened even more. Looking back, prior to the purchase, certain inquiries we had during the home sale were quickly dismissed - such as putting the home (that we were interested in selling) in a trust. We found later that this would have likely saved several tens of thousands of dollars the following year. It's unfortunate, but hopefully, we will be better prepared next time around. You live and you learn.
