****UPDATED REVIEW
September 1, 2025: This funeral home finally deemed it important enough to have contacted me a few weeks ago via this platform. Since business has suggested an in-person meeting, I feel it necessary to meet with "Skip" Luisi, his son, Tony, and Danielle. You may contact me with my information that you have on file.
***UPDATED REVIEW
July 8, 2025: I have received no correspondence from this business regarding the terrible treatment given to my mother's service and burial or the rude treatment Skip showed my family.
This funeral home deserves negative stars. I wouldn't have my pet's services here. Thank you for your attention in this matter.
**Since writing the review shown below, I have received no contact, no apology, nothing. In addition, I can no longer see the reviews left by one of my brothers, Owen, one of my nieces, Kristen, and one of my nephews, Chip.
I get that your business relies on ratings so it looks good, but your business should also be able to stand up and own belittling remarks, lies , and mistakes.
Skip's demeaning remarks comparing our Mom's policy to poverty and belittling remarks regarding one of my brothers stand out. Danielle telling us that a family member requested our Mother's casket to be opened was a lie. I've spoken with my siblings. Not one of us asked for that casket to be opened. Now we have one of our Mom's great grandchildren experiencing emotional trauma from that experience. Taking down or hiding reviews is petty and small.**
Review left on May 13, 2025:
I am writing to formally express my deep dissatisfaction with the planning services provided by DeMarco-Luisi Funeral Home and, in particular, its director. The handling of my mother's arrangements was not only unprofessional but bordered on unethical. Bear in mind that this family meeting took place only hours after my mom passed. I could not post this review without selecting at least one star.
When presented with a valid life insurance policy, the director made inappropriate and demeaning comparisons to "poverty level" cases, an implication that was both insulting and entirely unfounded. My mother had paid into this policy precisely to avoid this kind of indignity.
Even more troubling was the conduct directed toward my brother, who had every right to ask questions about services. Rather than receiving courteous and clear answers, he was met with mockery. The director asked--in a tone I can only describe as contemptuous--whether my brother had "been dropped on his head." Such a statement is not only grossly unprofessional, it could be considered discriminatory or harassing under applicable state business and consumer protection laws.
At a time when families are grieving and should be met with compassion and transparency, we were instead subjected to arrogance and unnecessary emotional distress. I would strongly caution anyone considering this establishment. Based on our experience, I would not trust this funeral home to handle even the most basic of arrangements without oversight.
If this review does not prompt internal reflection, I sincerely hope it at least serves as a warning to others seeking dignified care for their loved ones.
