Our neighborhood preservation group had a consultation with Stuart Lieberman, the senior partner about representing us in a land use dispute with our town. Although we provided him with considerable background information prior to the consult, he admitted he only briefly glanced at it and was not as well prepared for our discussion as we would have liked. Based on his firm's reputation alone, we decided to move forward with retaining them a couple of weeks later only to be told that since Stuart Lieberman was out of the country, they had no bandwidth to represent us. Now we are left in the lurch trying to find alternate counsel before the deadline for us to file suit passes.

I was very fortunate that Lieberman Blecher & Sinkevich had agreed to represent me, in spite of being very busy. I strongly recommend the firm to anyone who would need help - especially with environmental issues. They were extremely knowledgeable, professional, responsive and courteous.

A neighborhood community including myself were represented by Brittany DeBord, her opposition was what one would perceive as a partially biased township committee/board but also a team of 4. She was able to mobilize in less than 12 hours (not exaggerated). Additionally her resources were extremely limited and scarce, was given documents last minute, disregarded/overlooked during the meeting when requesting documents, and constantly time pressured.
a case before was not met with the same level of scrutiny. She was methodical in approach, had sound questioning skills, and maintained a challenging perspective while ensuring the concerns from the community were addressed. Brittany didn't show vulnerability, she stuck to the facts. She's a significant asset to retain for representation.
The end vote was in the communities' favor. Hopefully we will not need her services in the near future, but now know what her capabilities are. Can't imagine what she can do if she had more time to prepare. People say the sky is the limit, she'd probably respond, "if that's accurate, please explain why there are foot prints on the moon."

Our community group in Union New Jersey retained the firm Lieberman Blecher & Sinkevich to represent us for a multifamily development project being proposed that required a minor variance adjacent to our 1 family zone. What complicated this case was the zoning for the lot was changed in favor of the multifamily development which presented many uphill challenges for us.
Stuart Lieberman as the representative of our group had a very mild demeanor but was aggressive and concise in attacking the validity of the developer's professional team, exposing many deficiencies in their presentation. He exposed the Civil Engineer, the Architect, the NFPA Fire Prevention expert and Traffic consultant, illustrating the plethora of negative impacts that this development would have on the community and the township.
As a design and Construction professional myself, I was particularly impressed with his knowledge of the latest Storm Water Regulations mandated by the NJDEP as well as his overall expertise in land use and the other nuances of multifamily developments.
The verdict was almost unanimous by the board (7-1) to reject the development which brought our community group great pleasure, understanding its inappropriateness as well as contributing to an already overburdened storm sewer system.
We are indebted to him and the firm and if ever in need, will immediately call upon them for representation.
Thank You Stu, from the Larchmont Estates Civic Association.
