In October 2020, I sought out services from the Niedweske Barber Law Firm Via word of mouth from my mother-in law. I introduced myself to Linda Niedweske and provided some background information on my legal situation. After exchanging several emails and Linda reviewing information I provided to her, she stated that she might be able to be of assistance to me and at this point asked for a "retainer." I stressed to Linda that finances were tight and that we were barely getting by every month and this money wasn't going to be easy to obtain. After a couple weeks, I sent the retainer to the law firm, and heard back from Linda almost immediately, in which she stated she would be in touch within a few days. In less than 24 hours, Linda sent me an email, stating that she had reviewed all of my material and went further to state that she didn't think I had a case, but if I had any questions, I could feel free to reach out to her. Well, I was shocked. I had not sent her any new information since I made the payment. I had not even spoken to her or had a conference call with her. The only information she had, was information she told me she had already reviewed, that is how she came to the conclusion that she might be able to assist me. I replied to her email in which I supplied additional information, including the statements of two women that had been in the exact same circumstances as myself. She replied that it was circumstantial, but she would review what I sent her. I didn't hear from her, so about a week later I sent her more information and material supporting my situation. After a day or so, she replied with a question, which I answered and she followed that she would review what I sent her. After about two weeks of hearing nothing, I sent her an email requesting some of the money I sent her, be sent back to me and we could part our ways at this point, because clearly, she wasn't getting back to me. She responded immediately, stating she would review everything I sent her. After about a week, I sent her some more information supporting my case and she never replied. After about a month, of being frustrated, I once again suggested she send some of the retainer back to me and we part ways. Again, she replied immediately, and stated that she would review everything I sent her. After a week or so, I had not heard from Linda. Being beyond frustrated, I sent her an email stating that the only time I ever received a response from her was when I requested my retainer be sent back to me. I never received a response and have yet to hear from her. Unless you enjoy flushing hard- earned money down the toilet, avoid this firm at all costs!
