I hired Bill Barry to represent my sister and I in my father's probate case. Unfortunately, the experience was extremely disappointing. Whenever we requested guidance or asked for action, we were repeatedly told there was "nothing he could do because of the law." When we mentioned that we wanted to obtain our father's ashes from our stepmother, instead of negotiating or advocating on our behalf, his response was a sarcastic remark: "Have gone over this several times, and the law is the law. Good luck." No effort was made to communicate with the opposing attorney or attempt any resolution. My sister ultimately resolved the issue herself with a single five-minute email--after being told by our lawyer it was legally impossible. That alone spoke volumes about the lack of initiative and representation we received. Throughout the process, communication was minimal, there was no proactive strategy, and we consistently felt like we had to push for every step ourselves. We expected advocacy, negotiation, and problem-solving. Instead, we were met with dismissive responses and explanations of what couldn't be done. If you're looking for someone who will genuinely fight for you, I recommend looking elsewhere. But if you're comfortable spending thousands of dollars just to be repeatedly told what can't be done--this may be the attorney for you. This guy is a joke!!! There's a difference between understanding the law and hiding behind it. Real attorneys don't just state the law--they work within it to fight for their clients.
