I recently dealt with Sierra Crest Law Group, specifically attorney Alison Kertis, in connection with a Federal Lawsuit I filed against Washoe County and Build Our Center. While Washoe County filed a timely response, Build Our Center did not, prompting me to file for default judgment. 14 minutes after I submitted my documents, Michael Large, representing Washoe County, sent an "FYI" to Alison Kertis, despite her not having yet filed a notice of appearance in the case. Then 14 minutes later, I was contacted by Ms. Kertis asking me to withdraw my motion for default judgment.... This raised several questions for me: Was there pre-coordination between the attorneys before she officially joined the case? Why was the notice of appearance delayed, leaving the client at risk of default? How did Mr. Large know to alert Ms. Kertis about the case at that precise moment? While I appreciate timely communication, these actions made me question the transparency and professionalism of the firm. If you are considering Sierra Crest Law Group, I recommend clarifying their communication practices and timelines to ensure your case receives the attention it deserves.
