While I appreciate that mediation is often a preferred route for efficiency, my concern was never about how quickly things were resolved, but how they were handled along the way. I felt unprepared, unheard, and at times pressured into decisions I wasn't comfortable with--especially when paperwork was drafted and billed without confirmation. A favorable outcome doesn't negate the experience I had, which included lack of communication, surprise charges, and a general feeling that my concerns weren't taken seriously. I raised several issues that were never directly addressed, including billing inconsistencies and changes in documents I hadn't agreed to. It's important for others to know not just how fast a case can be resolved--but how the client feels during the process. My review reflects that experience, which is just as important as the end result. --- Unfortunately, my experience with Nicholas Shapiro was disappointing and left me feeling unsupported throughout a very personal and important legal matter. From the beginning, there was a strong push toward mediation, even before fully exploring other options or confirming my preferences. At one point, documents were drafted and billed to me--such as a stipulated parenting plan--after only one brief conversation with the other party. I was not consulted prior to the work being done, and the documents were never actually used. I also wasn't consulted before the opposing side selected the mediator, and the session was scheduled without prior discussion. I had to initiate conversations before mediation to ensure we were aligned on the approach. While we had agreed to a limited mediation window, I felt pressured to accept a proposed agreement that included terms I hadn't agreed to--some of which may have long-term financial consequences. Much of the professional tone I expected from an attorney was missing, and conversations often drifted toward personal topics, like his pet or past reviews, which made the experience feel unprofessional and unbalanced. Rather than advocating on my behalf, it felt like I was being encouraged to settle and move on. Administrative concerns added to the frustration: I had to directly contact the mediator to resolve payment issues before my retainer could be returned, and billing records were delayed or missing from the client portal. When I finally received a breakdown, I was charged for multiple items--including unused paperwork--that I hadn't approved. I was also told I would be charged for a paper copy of my billing records. Overall, I did not feel properly represented, nor did I feel that my concerns were taken seriously. I would not recommend this attorney to others seeking strong, attentive, and client-centered legal support.

Stephanie was very knowledgeable and didn't sugar coat anything. She helped me understand things on my level. I would highly recommend.
