We hired Attorney Kristin Cerri in November 2024 to file for guardianship and serve the incarcerated parents, request medical records, and file the consent to adopt. By August 2025, only the guardianship had been filed, and even that was delayed because she failed to properly serve the parents despite their known prison locations. We were billed repeatedly for unsuccessful attempts and paid over $6,000 with little progress. She never filed the medical records request and failed to file the consent to adopt, forcing the mother to hire a different attorney. She dropped us on the day of trial after we filed a formal complaint with the Bar Association, and we have documentation to support everything. In my opinion, she overpromised, underdelivered, and abandoned us when we needed her most. We lost our case to foster parents seeking to adopt our family members against the mother's wishes, instead of being adopted back into our family. This review is my personal experience and opinion.
